Power of attorney for registration of OSAGO and Casco

Is it possible to issue OSAGO by proxy if the owner of the car himself cannot visit the insurance company? At the moment, such an opportunity is provided, as well as the opportunity to claim an insurance payment for the owner. A power of attorney to issue OSAGO, CASCO or receive compensation has its own nuances in each of these cases.

You can prepare a power of attorney for obtaining a car insurance contract either using a computer or simply by hand. In order for a new driver to be entered into OSAGO, a simple form is also sufficient, which is compiled by the owner of the car himself. The following list of documents will be required:

  • personal passports;

From these papers, all data relating to the vehicle, as well as both parties, i.e. the principal and the authorized representative, must be entered into the paper.

A power of attorney for car insurance, or rather a sample of filling out, is as follows:

  1. Write the name of the document, the date of compilation.
  2. Next, indicate in full format the full name of the principal, as well as the trustee.
  3. Address of residence of both parties.
  4. We write information about the car: make, power, and any other information that allows you to identify it.
  5. A list of trusted actions must be specified. In this case, we prescribe the possibility of obtaining an auto civil liability policy or changing it.
  6. At the end of the document, the principal affixes his signature.

You can download to fill out the form by hand.

Notarization is not required, neither a power of attorney to amend the OSAGO policy, nor to receive insurance.

If a power of attorney for an insurance company is issued by a legal entity, then instead of the full name of the owner of the car, the full name of the head of the company that owns this vehicle should be written. However, the actual location of the organization is prescribed, and not the place of residence of its owner. Additionally indicate PSRN and TIN.

Registration of CASCO

Everyone wants to protect their car from breakdowns and accidents, and CASCO is one of the best insurance options. If you only use the car, and it is owned by your relative or acquaintance, you can still act as its insured.

For registration of CASCO, you will need to submit documents for the car, a power of attorney and passports of an authorized person and principal. It remains only to write an application, choose the optimal insurance program and pay for it.

Getting paid

If compensation was awarded after the accident, then the injured party must receive it personally. However, if the owner of the car himself was injured as a result of a traffic accident or he cannot receive payment personally for other reasons, then a representative can do this for him.

When applying for compensation from another person, it is mandatory to provide the insurance company with a notarized power of attorney. A document written (or printed) by the owner himself will still not be accepted, so you still have to contact a notary. It is impossible to pay compensation for both OSAGO and CASCO to a representative without this document.

You do not need to draw up paper on your own; the notary himself usually always has a standard form that will be filled out and certified. The law requires that the body of the document must indicate the entire list of rights that are entrusted to the representative. That is why immediately notify the notary so that he includes the wording “with the right to receive insurance compensation” in it. This is important even if you have an OSAGO policy and with CASCO, because without this offer, compensation will be refused.

Before an accident, it is better to protect yourself and insure your car. It does not matter who is the insured, so you can easily prepare a document and go to the office of any suitable insurance company. No one will refuse to issue auto insurance if you have a complete package of papers required for registration.
