1. Find out the serial number of the printing device.

You can find this information on the back cover of the printer. Also, this data is in the report: on the control panel, press the Menu button and arrow > to the left, find the system settings (System Setup), press Ok. 8. After rebooting the device, in order to finally confirm the firmware, we will need to output the configuration report again.

Yes, the boards have changed a lot. The position of the LEDs, connector / cable and a couple of extra transistors. apparentlySamsungI really didn't want the formatters to change so quickly. Therefore, we take our favorite tester in our hands and find out if everything is so bad.

As you can see, the pinout is almost identical, the only question is pin 9. Once again, we find out in the hands of the tester that it feeds only two transistors, which were not onML2160.

We insert the board back into the printer and solder the second end of the cable directly to the formatter board (pin 9 does not need to be connected anywhere). We collect the printer. Traditionally: we do not connect the CRUM block.

All M20** firmwares are single-machine only. This means that they are tied to a specific device (unique serial number and unique CRUM).

1. So, to flash the printer, you need

a) printer model - data on the case;
b) serial number - 15 characters - specified in the Configuration report;
c) firmware version - indicated in the Configuration report;
d) CRUM - (11 characters), listed in the "Supplies Information" report;

Thus, you will have to print two reports: Configuration and Supplies Information (Configuration and Expendable materials).

2. Print Configuration

Turn on the printer. On the front panel of the machine, press the "Print Screen" (or "WPS") button, the indicator will blink several times. And after a few seconds it will start flashing again. Release the button and the report will print.

Preparing for the firmware.

Turn on the printer connected to the computer with a USB cable and install the necessary drivers. The cable should be as short as possible. 3. Firmware order

On the site on the page "Order firmware" fill in the required fields of the order form obtained from reports with data. Click the "Submit" button.

4. PRINTER FIRMWARE

Unzip the resulting file into a separate folder.
- turn off the printer;
- press and hold the "Print Screen" button
- press the power button and hold both until the readiness indicator changes color;
- release buttons
- drag the file FIX_NU_XXXXXXXXXX_M20**_V**.hd to usbprns2.exe.
- wait until the device is flashed (this may take several minutes)
- that's all the firmware is over

After you have successfully flashed the device, remove the chip from the cartridge (stick it with adhesive tape) and save it (chip-key). The device must work without a chip.

IMPORTANT!!! In all subsequent cartridges that you are going to use in the printer, the chip must be removed. If you mistakenly insert a new cartridge with a chip, the device will be blocked.
