At the end of May, in the Military Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation Armed Forces Russian Federation“Patriot” started the final of the e-sports competition among pre-university institutions of the Ministry of Defense “Steel Wall”.

The event was attended by 8 teams from St. Petersburg, Kronstadt, Kyzyl, Orenburg, Petrozavodsk, Stavropol, Vladivostok and Moscow.

Nakhimov Naval School Vladivostok - “Steel Tigers”

On the first day of the competition, the teams competed in the “Steel Race” obstacle course, in a miniature “Tank Biathlon” (traversing a course with a radio-controlled tank against the clock) and showed their knowledge in a historical quiz on the theme of the Second World War.

Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for the Development of Information and Telecommunication Technologies of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Alexander Yuryevich Zolotarev, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the tournament.

Welcome words to the participants of the tournament were also said by the President of the Tank-Model Sports Federation, Alexey Anatolyevich Lyzin: “Today you will get acquainted not only with radio-controlled tanks, but with the very discipline of tank-model sports, which is a new and young professional competence, as well as the basis for mastering new civil and military specialty- “ground drone operator”! I wish you success and only victory!”

President of FTMS - Lyzin A.A. - first on the left

After the grand opening, a draw was held among the teams; the team captains, and later the team pilots themselves, were instructed in how to operate radio-controlled tanks. The briefing was conducted by representatives of the FTMS - the Chief Judge of the Federation - Portnov A.N. and the President of FTMS - Lyzin A.A.

The fight on the tracks was stubborn. The targets definitely did not want to be hit when shooting on the move, and the minefields insidiously delayed the vehicles to penalty points.

But the judges clearly did their job, tracking both violations along the course and rewards.

In parallel with the main route, which was quite simple for many pilots, those who wished could join the tank-model sport directly at a distance with more complex obstacles.

This improvised track was so interesting that the accompanying teams also did not stand aside.

Having picked up the remote control under the direct guidance and instructions of FTMS representatives, we confidently controlled the “thirty-fours”.

The young pilots really liked this stage of the competition, as well as the improvised sports track.

The Tank Model Sports Federation expresses gratitude to the Ministry of Defense, personally to Major General A.Yu. Zolotarev. for the invitation and participation in judging the competition.
