By managing the purchase of fuels and lubricants for the police, Alexander Petrikov could purchase them at an "inflated cost." Assistance in the criminal scheme could be provided to him by Marina Astakhova.

The Investigative Committee has yet to find out whether Astakhova herself formally approached the checks of state contracts for the supply of fuels and lubricants, which came to the legal department from Petrikov, or whether the colonel carried out the general's instructions.

Kozlov, holder of the orders of Courage, Honor and "For Personal Courage", was appointed to his last position - chief of the capital's police - at the end of last year, shortly after Oleg Baranov, who previously occupied it, headed the capital's central office. The latter, even after his resignation, decided to use the knowledge and experience of Vyacheslav Kozlov - the general was offered to become an adviser to the head of the central department on public security issues. He will take the position already being a civilian specialist.

However, while General Kozlov was honorably retired, the recent resignation of another deputy head of the Moscow Interior Ministry, Alexander Petrikov, turned out to be actually forced. By the way, now Mr. Baranov has two acting deputies left.

The major general, who had been in charge of the rear since 2014, also left the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs due to his seniority, but before that, General Baranov made serious claims to him for weakening control over the activities of the rear police units.

It should be noted that three years ago, the then head of the central department, Anatoly Yakunin, introducing the team of his new deputy Petrikov (he served in the rear units since 1992), set him a number of tasks to improve the material and technical support of the metropolitan police and said: “You can handle it, relying on on his rich life experience and professionalism. In response, Alexander Petrikov promised to do everything possible to "improve the quality and efficiency of work" of the rear units.

Now these divisions are checked by specialists from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who, according to some reports, have already revealed major financial violations. Moreover, the results of the audit have already served as the basis for the initiation of several criminal cases of fraud. True, their defendants are businessmen who participated in the execution of contracts with the rear. According to some reports, the major general is a witness in these investigations.
