“I’m too crazy not to be a genius”: a selection of quotes and aphorisms by Albert Einstein. Is imagination more important than knowledge? Wisdom is not the result of learning

Einstein quote exposed.

"I'm afraid that the day will definitely come when technology will surpass simple human communication. And the world will get a generation of idiots."

This phrase seemed dubious, since I had never seen it in print before (I once had a project dedicated to quotes from famous personalities and I had to re-read a lot of quotes).
First of all, I went searching in the Russian-language segment of the Internet... The search for the original source turned out to be useless, since this phrase was replicated in Russian on over 100,500 resources (including information ones).

I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.

I fear the day when the technology overlaps with our humanity. The world will only have a generation of idiots.

This fact strengthened my suspicions about the authenticity of this phrase.

In the printed edition of "The Ultimate Quotable Einstein" (there is nowhere more authoritative, the link is in the title of the post) this quote is also missing.

During a short investigation, it was possible to establish that a similar phrase first appeared in the film “Powder” (1995):

Donald Ripley: It’s become appallingly clear that our technology has surpassed our humanity.
Jeremy Reed: Albert Einstein.
Donald Ripley: I look at you, and I, I think that someday our humanity might actually surpass our technology.

The original phrase sounded like this:

Our world faces a crisis as yet unperceived by those possessing power to make great decisions for good or evil. The unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of thinking and we thus drift toward an unparalleled catastrophe.

"Atomic Education Urged by Einstein" page 13, line 6.

1. A. Einstein never uttered phrases about idiots;
2. You can safely send someone who will prove the opposite;
3. Don't trust quotes on the Internet.

The real progress of mankind depends not so much on the inventive mind as on consciousness.

Science can only be created by those who are thoroughly imbued with the desire for truth and understanding. But the source of this feeling originates from the field of religion. From there comes the belief in the possibility that the rules of this world are rational, that is, comprehensible to reason. I cannot imagine a real scientist without a strong belief in this. The situation can be described figuratively as follows: science without religion is lame, and religion without science is blind.

Quotes about technology

This illusion has become a prison for us, limiting us to the world own desires and attachment to a narrow circle of people close to us. Our task is to free ourselves from this prison, expanding the sphere of our participation to every living being, to the whole world, in all its splendor. Our situation on Earth is truly amazing. Everyone appears on it for a short moment, without a clear goal, although some manage to come up with a goal. But from the point of view everyday life one thing is obvious: we live for other people - and most of all for those on whose smiles and well-being our own happiness depends.

ALBERT EINSTEIN'S 10 GOLDEN RULES

Albert Einstein was a great physicist. He opened a lot
physical laws and was ahead of many scientists of his time. But people call
his genius is not only for this. Professor Einstein was a philosopher who clearly understood
laws of success, and explained them as well as his equations. Here are ten
quotes from a huge list of his wonderful sayings. Ten gold
lessons you can use

in its Everyday life.

The man who never failed, never tried
do something new.

Most people don't try anything new because
fear of making mistakes. But there is no need to be afraid of this. Often the person who is the victim

In 30 years you will definitely forget everything you
I had to study it at school. You will only remember what you have learned yourself.

3. In my imagination, I am free to draw like an artist.
Imagination more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination spans the entire world.

When you realize how far humanity has come since
cave times, the power of imagination is felt on a full scale. What we have
now, achieved through the imagination of our forefathers. What we will have in
the future will be built with the help of our imagination.

4. The secret of creativity is the ability to hide sources
your inspiration.

The uniqueness of your creativity often depends on
how well you know how to hide your sources. You can be inspired by others
great people, but if you are in a position where the whole world is looking at you, your ideas
must look unique.

5. A person's worth should be determined by what he gives, and
not what he is capable of achieving. Try to become not successful, but valuable
person.

If you look at the world famous people, then you can

opportunity to take. When your goal is to add value to the world, you
rise to the next level of life.

6. There are two ways to live: you can live as if

If you live as if everything is a miracle, then
you will be able to enjoy even the smallest manifestations of beauty in this
world. If you live in two ways at the same time, your life will be happy and
productive.

7. When I study myself and my way of thinking, I come to
conclusion that the gift of imagination and fantasy meant more to me than any

Dreaming about everything you could achieve in life is
important element positive life. Let your imagination wander freely
and create a world in which you would like to live.

Smart people always ask questions. Ask yourself and others
people to find a solution. This will allow you to learn new things and analyze

Albert Einstein once said: “In my imagination I am free to draw as an artist. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination spans the entire world.
When you realize how far humanity has come since cave times, the power of imagination is felt on a full scale. What we have now was achieved with the help of the imagination of our forefathers. What we will have in the future will be built with the help of our imagination.”

And we? What do we strive for when teaching and developing our children? What lessons are most often included in our “schedule” of activities with children? Those that develop imagination? Or those that force children to accumulate knowledge?

Imagination! Fantasy! Creative thinking! That's it. what children need!
Where to start developing your imagination?

From games, of course!

Here are a few games to develop imagination from my book:

What does it look like?
Age: from 3-4 years.

Show your child and ask what they look like:
geometric shapes or bodies,
· blots (random or specially made),
· “scribbles” of his younger brother, abstract paintings by real artists,
· pebbles on the beach,
· sticks or driftwood in the park or forest,
· clouds,
· puddles,
· leaves, cones, seeds of various plants,
· boxes of unusual shape,
· other items in your home.

Which of your familiar or favorite characters might he be like:
random passerby
· your neighbor from the third floor,
· hero of this or that film, cartoon,
· the person depicted in the picture
· and so on.

What the child is reminded of what they look like:
sounds of the melody heard,
· sounds of different instruments,
· unusual car signal,
computer sounds
doorbell sound
· noise of a train station, a large store, a playground,
· door creaking,
· squelching of sandals in a puddle,
· crunch of an apple falling from a branch,
rustle of grass, trees,
· Thunder Strike,
· sounds made by different animals.

What reminds you of what they look like:
· the smell of shampoo, perfume, cream,
the smell of candy, yogurt,
· smells of fruits,
· smells of different dishes,
· the smell of burnt eggs,
· the smell of an unfamiliar spice,
· smells of different flowers,
· the smell of the subway, a big store,
gas station smell
· the smell of a flower stall,
the smell of a bakery
· the smell of a new briefcase, a new book,
· the smell of freshly washed sheets,
· the smell of air after rain in the forest, in the city,
· other odors - pleasant and unpleasant.

Invite your child to close his eyes and touch different objects. What are they like:
fluffy blanket
a piece of fur
· silk handkerchief,
· a piece of sandpaper,
· thick rope,
· pincushion (empty, of course),
· spring,
· Walnut,
· glossy magazine,
· TV remote,
· newspaper rolled into a tube,
· and so on.

During such games, try not to argue with the child, do not say: “But this doesn’t look like it at all!” It’s better to ask the child why he thought so. Share your impressions.
The only exceptions are, perhaps, games with geometric shapes and bodies. If a child says that a square looks like an apple, he is, of course, not entirely right. But in response to your bewilderment, the baby will boldly declare that “This is such a magical apple, don’t you understand!” Then agree with him that it is better for you to compare with real objects for now, and you will draw a magic apple a little later.

Magic items
Age: from 4-5 years.

All sorts of incredible stories constantly happen to the heroes of fairy tales, adventure books and films. They find themselves in very difficult, sometimes hopeless situations.
Invite your child to come up with what kind of magical object or amazing device he would like to give to the hero of a book or movie to make it easier for him to cope with troubles. What properties should this item have, what might it look like.
Let the child draw a hero, and next to him - a magical “helper”.
Ask your child what he would do if he had such an object or device in his hands.

Drawing impressions
Age: from 4-5 years.

When the child masters a pencil and a brush well enough and begins to draw not “just little men”, but more complex “genre scenes”, invite him to draw at your request:
characters of your favorite fairy tale (you can discuss in advance what this or that character looks like, what he might be wearing, at what exact moment in the fairy tale the child wants to portray him),
· impressions from a recent trip to the zoo, to the circus, to the theater (remember together how the animals behaved, who exactly participated in the performance, how the actors were dressed, and so on),
· yourself and family members during a trip to the sea, skiing, and so on.

We imagine and draw
Age: from 5-6 years.

Invite your child to imagine and draw:
· pantheon of fairy-tale “gods” - the god of play, the god of fun, the god bad mood, god of the wind, god of food, god of sleep and so on;
· various fairies and wizards;
· kings and queens, kings, princes, queens and princesses of various amazing states;
· unknown, non-existent animals: known from fairy tales - hypogryph, nozzle-tailed heffalump, heffalump, push-pull, gorynych snake; or fictitious ones - geometrine, round-tailed, horn-haired, sparkling-eye, scaly creeper, and so on (come up with it yourself or together with your child);
· inhabitants of other planets (you can come up with the name of these creatures or the names of the planets together with your child);
· non-existent modes of transport (both terrestrial and alien), having discussed in advance what properties they will have;
· fairy-tale items - magic wands, invisible hats, flying carpets, self-assembled tablecloths and much more;
· different cities - alien, fabulous (from one or another fairy tale or “just like that”), real (located in different parts of the globe);
· famous people whose portraits the child has never seen.

What and how can be done
Age: from 4-5 years.

Discuss with your child what can be done from:
· plastic lemonade bottle: whole, with one, two, three holes, cut lengthwise or crosswise, into equal or unequal parts, not one, but two or three at a time, using at least two, but no more than four other items
· candy boxes (subject to one or more additional requirements - see above or come up with your own),
· round box of processed cheese,
· coffee tins,
bottle or can caps,
· matchboxes (one, two, ten),
· wires, strings, sticks,
· wooden spoon and shred,
· cones (same or different),
· smooth board,
· multi-colored pieces of plexiglass, leather, fabric,
multi-colored cotton balls,
· buttons,
· old mittens, gloves, knitted hat,
· unnecessary “baby” cubes from which your child “grew”,
old non-working alarm clock or radio,
wallpaper remnants,
· and much more.

When giving a task, clarify whether the result of the work should bring any practical benefit or will it be something “for beauty”.
When your child makes a suggestion, ask what other materials or tools might be needed to bring the idea to life.

This game can be played either orally, or by sketching a design for a product or by making it in real form.

You can play the other way around:
What can be made from:
· a vase for flowers, fruit or sugar,
· photo frame,
· piggy bank,
· pallet or flowerpot (stand) for indoor plant,
· candlestick,
drawer for small miscellaneous items,
· bi-ba-bo doll or finger doll,
· collage,
· stained glass,
· beads, brooch, bracelet, other children's jewelry,
· book cover,
· bookmark,
· shelf for small items or toys,
clothes for dolls,
· visor for a street bell in the country,
· hook for tack,
· many other useful or interesting items.

This version of the game can be played mainly orally, since you may not have any necessary object, but if you had it, then the “thing” would work out.

Making up nonsense
Age: from 5 years.

Start reciting some poem well known to your child. At the end of the second or fourth line, pause, and then say not the word that should be, but a completely different one, preferably in rhyme (if possible), and even so that it is funny.
Start reading another quatrain, pause and wait for the child to add a word. If the child does not respond, add something yourself. The third or fourth time the child will pick up the game and come up with very funny endings.

Imagine that you...
Age: from 5 years.

Invite your child to imagine that he suddenly turned into someone or something. What he will hear, see around him, what he will feel, what environment he will be in.

A child can “transform”:
· into an adult,
· into a child of a different age, same or opposite sex,
· into the hero of a fairy tale, song or even a famous painting,
· a well-known person (actor, president, banker, etc.),
any animal,
· in any subject.

Then switch roles - you turn and tell the child everything that you “see, feel” and so on. You can “transform” together and talk to each other on behalf of your “heroes”.
You can invent various events for your heroes. The result will be a whole fairy tale or story.
If your child likes these types of games, be sure to read (or re-read) fairy tales in which the characters are objects (Andersen has many such fairy tales) or animals.

What would you call it?
Age: from 5 years.

Look with your child at an album with reproductions of paintings by different artists, reading the title of each painting.
Invite your child to look through the images again and come up with a name for each picture.
In one lesson, look at no more than 20 paintings, otherwise your child will get bored.
In addition, you can ask your child to come up with new names for famous fairy tales, poems, films and cartoons.

We make up fairy tales
Age: from 5-6 years.

Try to come up with a continuation of a well-known fairy tale with your child. Or, after reading the fairy tale to the middle, come up with an ending. And then compare it with what the author of the fairy tale came up with.
Try to mix the characters of several fairy tales and come up with a new adventure for them.
Write down the most successful options, but not while composing, as this will distract both you and the child. And then, once again talking through all the details.
Publish “your” fairy tale in an edition of two to five copies and give it to your grandparents. Naturally, with illustrations by the young artist.

We come up with the rules of the game
Age: from 5-6 years.

If your child likes to play different board games, make your own game with him.
First, discuss what kind of game it will be - just a “walking game” with additional arrows indicating where the pieces should go. Or a game where there are tasks written on cards. A game in which you need to collect something, or, conversely, lay it out across the field as you advance. A game where you have to answer questions, etc.
Then you can come up with a plot together - who or what the game will be about. AND additional conditions- what to do when passing certain cells, what needs to be collected or laid out, what can be written on the cards. The more initiative and imagination a child shows, the better. Your task is to ensure that the rules of the game are not too complex or confusing and to help the child change them so that the game is both understandable and interesting.
When all the conditions have been discussed and written down, start making the game itself.
Help your child mark the playing field (the child cannot yet use a ruler well). Circles for promoting chips can be made using a stencil. Let the child make the drawings himself or cut them out from old magazines and paste them on.
If the game is with cards, cut them up and help your child write assignments.
You can take chips and cubes from any purchased game or make your own from scrap materials.

Nowadays you won’t surprise anyone with advertising. She accompanies us almost everywhere - on the street, in the subway, we hear her on the radio and see her on TV. There are advertisements that are beautiful and interesting, with humor. And there is tasteless, intrusive advertising.
Try to come up with your own advertisement together with your child. This could be, for example, a fabulous advertisement. It’s as if in some magical land there is a store where they sell various wonderful items.
Decide what you will advertise. For whom and what can this product be intended for? Will it be an advertising drawing or information broadcast on a fabulous radio.
You can “organize” a whole advertising company of this product.
If your child is no longer interested in fairy tales, or you have already played enough of this game, try to consider billboards near your home or watch the latest commercials on TV and discuss whether your child likes the advertisement. Does he consider it effective? How would he advertise this product or service (naturally, it is necessary to discuss in advance who the advertisement is intended for, how this segment of the population can be attracted).

And in conclusion, I would like to wish adults - mothers, fathers, grandparents - to set an example for their children - fantasize, make your life, your everyday life unusual, interesting! First, try decorating your apartment with unique, handmade items.

Albert Einstein left a deep mark on the history of mankind as an outstanding physicist, creator of a number of revolutionary physical theories, author of many scientific works. But not everyone knows that this wonderful scientist was also one of the wisest people of his time, who shared with us in his publications a lot of life advice and observations. We will remind you of some of them in this article.

1. We are all born geniuses, but life corrects this

“We are all geniuses. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb trees, it will live its whole life thinking it is a fool.”

2. Treat everyone with dignity and respect.

“I talk to everyone the same, no matter who it is - the garbage man or the president of the university.”

3. We are all one

“A person is a part of a whole, which we call, a part limited in time and space. He feels himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separate from everyone around him, which is a kind of optical illusion of his consciousness. This illusion has become a prison, imprisoning us in the world of our own desires and attachments to a narrow circle of people close to us. Our task is to free ourselves from this prison, expanding the sphere of our participation to every living being, to the whole world, in all its splendor.”

4. There are no random coincidences

“Coincidences are one of the ways God maintains his anonymity.”

5. Imagination is much more important than knowledge.

“Imagination is much more important than knowledge. Knowledge is based only on what we now know and understand, while imagination includes the whole world and everything that we will ever understand and know.”

The real sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination.

“Logic will help you get from A to Z; your imagination will take you around the world."

6. Solitude can be delightful for a mature person.

"Loneliness is painful when one is young, but delightful when one becomes more mature."

“I live alone; it is disgusting for the young, but acquires a wonderful taste with age.”

“A person’s value lies in what he gives, not in what he is able to receive.”

16. Never stop learning

“Intellectual growth must begin at birth and cease only at death.”

17. Don't stop asking questions

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. It's important to keep asking questions. Curiosity has every reason to exist."

“People like you and me, although mortal, of course, like everyone else, but never grow old, no matter how long we live. I mean that we will never cease to stand like curious children before the great Mystery into which we were born.”

18. Everything depends on you

“Our world is a dangerous place to live, not because some people do evil, but because everyone else sees it and does nothing.”

19. Don't be afraid to speak your mind

“Few people are able to calmly express an opinion that contradicts the prevailing prejudices in society. Most people are not even capable of forming such an opinion.”

20. Let nature be your teacher

“Take a better look at nature, and after that you will understand many things better.”

21. Change your mind and it will change your life.

“The world we have was created in the process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our consciousness."

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used to create them.

22. Purpose is the main thing

“If you want to live a happy life, then you must be attached to goals, not to people or things.”

23. We become happier by making others happy.

“The best way is to bring joy to someone else.”

24. You have no restrictions except those you set for yourself.

“Only those who try to do an absurd thing can achieve the impossible.”

“Here’s a question that sometimes puzzles me: Am I crazy or is everyone else?”

25. Doing the right thing doesn't always make you popular.

“What is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right.”

26. Difficulties bring new opportunities

“Among the clutter, look for simplicity. Find harmony amidst dissonance. Find opportunities in obstacles."

27. You cannot achieve peace using force.

“Peace can never be achieved through force. It is achieved only through mutual understanding.”

“You cannot prevent and prepare for war at the same time.”

28. There are no trifles

“He who is careless in small things cannot be trusted in important things.”

29. Go your own ways

“A person who follows a crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. A person who walks on his own can probably find himself in places where no one has ever been.”

30. Listen to your intuition

“Intuition is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

“I would never have made my discoveries through the process of rational thought.”

31. Wisdom is not the result of learning

“Wisdom is not a product of learning, but a lifelong attempt to acquire it.”

I always think that my inner and outer lives are based on the works and thoughts of other people, living and dead, and that I must expand myself to give to the world as much as I have received and continue to receive now."

Albert Einstein was an excellent physicist. He discovered many physical laws and was ahead of many scientists of his time. But people call him a genius not only for this. Professor Einstein was a philosopher who clearly understood laws of success, and explained them as well as his equations. Here are ten quotes from a huge list of his wonderful sayings.

Ten life lessons from that you can use in your daily life:

1. A person who has never made mistakes has never tried anything new.

Most people don't try anything new because they are afraid of failure. But there is no need to be afraid of this. Often, a person who fails learns more about how to win than someone who immediately succeeds.

2. Education is what remains after you forget everything you learned at school.

In 30 years, you will absolutely forget everything you had to study in school. You will only remember what you have learned yourself.

3. In my imagination, I am free to draw like an artist. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination covers the whole world

When you realize how far humanity has come since cave times, the power of imagination is felt on a full scale. What we have now was achieved with the help of the imagination of our forefathers. What we will have in the future will be built with the help of our imagination.

4. The secret of creativity is the ability to hide the sources of your inspiration.

The uniqueness of your work often depends on how well you can hide your sources. You may be inspired by other great people, but if you are in a position where the whole world is looking at you, your ideas need to be seen as unique.

5. A person's worth should be determined by what he gives, not by what he is able to achieve. Try to become not a successful person, but a valuable person

If you look at world famous people, you can see that each of them gave something to this world. You have to give in order to be able to take. When your goal is to add value to the world, you will rise to the next level of life.

6. There are two ways to live: you can live as if miracles do not happen and you can live as if everything in this world is a miracle.

If you live as if nothing in this world is a miracle, then you will be able to do whatever you want and you will not have obstacles. If you live as if everything is a miracle, then you will be able to enjoy even the smallest manifestations of beauty in this world. If you live both ways at the same time, your life will be happy and productive.

7. As I study myself and my way of thinking, I come to the conclusion that the gift of imagination and fantasy meant more to me than any ability for abstract thinking.

Dreaming about everything you could achieve in life is an important element of a positive life. Let your imagination wander freely and create a world in which you would like to live.

8. To become a perfect member of the flock of sheep, you must first be a sheep.

If you want to become a successful entrepreneur, you need to start doing business now. Wanting to start but being afraid of the consequences will get you nowhere. This is true in other areas of life: to win, you first need to play.

9. You need to learn the rules of the game. And then you need to start playing better than everyone else

Learn the rules and play the best. Simple, like everything ingenious.

10. It is very important not to stop asking questions. Curiosity is not given to man by chance

Smart people always ask questions. Ask yourself and other people to find a solution. This will allow you to learn new things and analyze your own growth.
