The best scenario of the Greek party. Greetings in Greek style

A pompous Greek-style party is a fascinating and beautiful idea for a celebration. Guests will surely be delighted by the opportunity to spend time on the legendary Olympus, in the company of seductive goddesses, formidable titans and elusive nymphs! Getting ready to climb?

Simulating the abode of the Greek gods is easy both indoors and outdoors. If you plan to rent a cafe, look for a hall with columns and decorate them with ivy. "Monolithic" columns are easy to make from paper, polystyrene and other improvised materials. Ivy, creepers, bunches of grapes, olive branches and delicate flowers should be everywhere - on the walls, in vases and on dishes, images - on furniture, napkins and dishes. Cut out clouds from whatman paper, give them realism with the help of paints and hang them under the ceiling and along the top edge of the walls.

In order for you to get exactly the Greek party, it is important to keep the design in a certain color scheme. The main shade is white and ivory. Lots of muted greens (olive shade), bright spotted fruit and delicate buds of pinkish, violet or yellowish hues. A little bit of gold to outline the connection between the decor and the costumes of the guests. And, of course, brown - wood, earth, clay. These are vases and dishes, picture frames with images of warriors and gods of Greece, national ornaments on textiles. By the way, there should be a lot of fabric - drape windows, chairs, sofas, tables.

For a stylized Greek party invitation, use distressed paper and fonts that imitate Hellenic letters. Carefully burn the edges of the sheet and roll it into a tube, tie it with a ribbon - the “ancient” scroll is ready! Look for and print Greek ornaments and patterns - using a stencil, it is easy to decorate glass, paper, and fabrics with them. "Greek" figurines, figurines, vases and dishes can be rented or borrowed from friends (these are popular motifs, in almost every home there is at least one object suitable for the occasion).

Any event must begin with an invitation. In this case, you can create them from parchment, which will be folded into manuscripts and scrolls. Try to use the Greek alphabet in invitations, a font designed to either decorate text or capitalize each paragraph. You can draw a branch of an olive tree on the invitation. If possible, attach a real olive branch to the invitations and send them to the guests.

The room where the celebration will take place must be decorated. Turn the room into a Greek temple. All furniture (chairs, sofas, armchairs) should be covered with large pieces of purple, white or burgundy fabric. It is better that the fabric falls in tails, but it is necessary to fix it, otherwise it will slip. You can rent white large columns made of plastic, foam, as well as statues from the same material. They will need to be placed throughout the room and decorated with artificial ivy. The corners of the hall can also be decorated with ivy and dense white fabrics.

Themed party clothes

At a Greek party, the costumes of the guests are very important. All invitees can dress up as ancient Greek heroes and gods:

Apollo. He is the god of the arts and the sun. This is a man in a tunic who can hold both a staff and any musical instrument.

Aphrodite. She is the goddess of beauty and love. She can be beautiful woman dressed in a long tunic with flowers.

Athena. She is the goddess of crafts, just war and wisdom. The attributes will be a cape and a helmet.

Hades. God of the realm of the dead. It can be a middle-aged man in a tunic with a staff or bident in his hands.

Persephone. She is the wife of Hades, who tricked her into making her his queen. This image is suitable for a brown-haired woman - she should wear a tunic with green jewelry. The symbol of Persephone is the pomegranate.

Gera. Wife of Zeus the god of thunder. She is also the patroness of marriage. This is a woman dressed in a tunic, with a symbol of power - a diadem on her head.

Zeus. He knows the whole world, is the god of thunder, lightning and sky. A man depicting Zeus must have a shield and "lightning bolts" (they can be cut out of cardboard and painted gold).

Poseidon. This is the lord of the seas. He is a man in a tunic, holding a trident in his hands.

Dionysus. He is the god of agriculture, winemaking. They will be a young man dressed in a tunic, carrying a bunch of grapes in his hands.

Artemis. This is the goddess of fertility, hunting, female chastity. She may be a young girl dressed in a tunic, behind whom is a quiver with arrows and a bow.

Ares. Terrifying god of war. They will be a man holding a round shield in his hand, wearing a helmet on his head.

Nika. She is the goddess of victory. This is a woman dressed in a tunic with a wreath and a bandage, with wings behind her back.

Hermes. This is the lord of trade, trickster and deceiver. They will be a man in a tunic, with a wide-brimmed hat on his head and winged sandals on his feet.

Hephaestus. He is the god of blacksmithing and fire. This is a bearded man who is dressed in a short tunic and holding a blacksmith's hammer in his hand.

Demeter. This is the goddess of agriculture, fertility. This image is more suitable for a mature woman. In her hands she needs to hold a bunch of wheat or a staff.

Morpheus. He is the god of dreams. This is either a completely mature man or a young man who should have small wings on his temples. He is dressed in a dark tunic and black cloak and holds a poppy flower in his hands.

Themis. This is the well-known goddess of justice. A young woman holding scales and a sword.

Amur. He is the god of love. When creating an image, you will need wings and a bow with arrows.

Eris. She is the goddess of discord. It would be better if the woman portraying Eris is a brunette. Behind her back should be black wings.

Festive Greek table

After the distribution of roles, you need to think over the menu. Wine, olives and bread have always been the basis of the Greek table. Better file different kinds olives, black olives, wines and freshly baked wheat bread. Among the traditional dishes of Greece, feta cheese stands out, as well as all dishes that are prepared on its basis. Among the varieties of other dishes can be:

Tarama is the caviar of sea fish, which is beaten with breadcrumbs, lemon juice and butter;

Horiatiko salad, which is prepared from cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, olives, origan, sweet peppers, flavored with oil;

Pies: tirapita - from cheese and spanacapita - from spinach;

Stuffed, baked, fried eggplants, tomatoes, zucchini;

Marinated cuttlefish and octopus;

Squid rings fried in breadcrumbs;

Various types of shrimp;

Lamb meat in yogurt;

Meat that is cooked on coals and a spit;

Greek salad;

Salad made from cabbage;

Meatballs.

The main drink of the party will be wine. It is desirable that the guest who has chosen the image of Dionysus pour this drink to all guests.

Music, games and entertainment for the party

After compiling the menu of the event, you should think about the musical accompaniment. An excellent option would be if the organizer of the holiday can find discs with Greek music for the main background. Then you can also dance to them. On the big screen, turn on a movie about the gods, heroes of Ancient Greece, for example, films such as Clash of the Titans, Odyssey, Troy, Jason and the Argonauts are suitable.

Among the entertainment of the party can be miniature Olympic Games. Give the winners an olive wreath. Games are best played in a large room.

In order for the party to be remembered by the guests, pay attention to all the little things: from the distribution of roles to the decoration of the room.

An excursion into a romantic past or straight to Olympus? In a pompous hall, in a sauna or bath, in nature, at home? Regardless of the conventions, a Greek-style party is an original, memorable theme for a holiday with close friends or colleagues, a bachelorette party, a wedding or a birthday.

Registration

Start decorating the room with a choice of colors, because. shades play an important role in creating a Greek interior. Associatively, a white background or delicate beige, ivory, creamy is better than others. For bright accents - symbolic colors:

  • blue and cyan- sky, sea;
  • gold- sun, sand, wealth;
  • green and olive- vegetation, fertility;
  • red, purple- flowers, power;
  • brown- wood, clay, the earth itself.

Try to hide everything that doesn't fit. Use drapery for decoration - curtains, chair covers, curtains for bulky inappropriate furniture. Scatter small pillows and rugs, themed or straw. Print photo (Greek gods, musical instruments, landscapes, mythical creatures) and replace the paintings with them, decorate the empty walls of the hall. For children, you can take bright pictures from cartoons.

Do not overload the room: a Greek party is an elegant, sophisticated decoration. Even minimalism is appropriate, but adjusted for the festive design.

We offer several ideas that do not require a lot of time and significant expenses:

  • Make voluminous clouds from corrugated or plain paper. String vertically on the fishing line so that the garlands hang from the ceiling. Using a glue gun, it is easy to assemble a cloud of cotton wool onto the frame. If you hide an electric garland inside (on batteries, if there is no outlet nearby), you get unimaginable beauty!

  • One third blue and two thirds white balloons close the ugly ceiling and create a festive mood. On some balls, draw doves with a black marker;
  • Cut out columns, picturesque balustrades from cardboard / polystyrene. Put them along the walls, at the aisles, stairs, under the window sills. Wipe the columns with ivy, lianas of bright flowers;

  • Ask your friends for Greek-style earthenware vases. The topic is popular, for sure there is something. If not, you can “blind” a couple of masterpieces with your own hands: cut out the silhouettes from thick cardboard and color them. This is a simple task even for children;

Characteristic ornaments and patterns should be everywhere - on drapery, napkins and tablecloths, on dishes. You can buy something, draw something. Greek ornaments are quite simple - the main thing is to get into color and choose not the most intricate designs.

  • Place the flowers in real amphoras-vases or paint several pots with your own hands. Such blanks come in a variety of configurations and sizes, and are inexpensive. The smallest can be put on the table, flat dishes can be used for serving;

  • It is desirable to somehow beat the theme of fire and water- the two remaining elements (you have already honored the earth with attention by placing clay vases). You can use several bio-fireplaces and miniature fountains to decorate the room. Or pour water into beautiful transparent containers, put shells inside, flowers, candles on top. You can hide the bud under an inverted glass, put a candle on top (on batteries, if the party is for children).

  • Olympus- a suitable photo zone for a Greek party. A white background with clouds, a balustrade and a pair of liana-covered columns in the background. Two or three gold-painted or olive-covered chairs for the principal gods. Several pillows for minor deities (swap places). In the center - a dish with fruit, glasses, wine. Do you want humor? Make a tantamaresque - a chariot or embracing gods and seductive goddesses with "windows" instead of faces.

Don't Forget the Party Invitations - Decorated with Greek Style Ornaments, postcards in the form of gods, amphoras or harps. Burn the edges of dark beige paper, roll up - the papyrus scroll is ready! You can make coffee paper to imitate an invitation from the distant past. Use stilted language and stylized font.

Suits

Lucky are those whose Greek themed party will be held in a sauna, bathhouse or on the beach: wrap yourself in a sheet or cover the most important thing with a loincloth - and you are already a god! Although ... If the room is not cold, such costumes are really appropriate - what embarrassment can there be when Aphrodite, Hermes, Persephone and Zeus himself gathered to celebrate?

Thematic dress code: Greek tunic, chiton or flowing dress of any length, gathered under the bust with a golden belt. Sandals with long straps entangling the legs. Gold accessories on the ankles, wrists, ears, hair and neck. Hairstyle in the Greek style, neat discreet makeup. Or like this:

  • choose your god(drawing lots?), watch a historical film or rent costumes, rent or recreate with your own hands;

  • read mythology, we are preparing accessories - thematic, hinting at the personality of a particular god:
    • Hera is a diadem and a scepter crowned with a cuckoo.
    • Zeus with an aegis shield and a lightning-throwing scepter.
    • Athena in armor, with a spear.
    • Cupid with wings and bow.
    • Dionysus - grape wreath, goblet.
    • Artemis - quiver and bow, "fruit" earrings-beads.
    • Hekate - a floor-length silver or gray dress, a pointed diadem (as on the Statue of Liberty).

You can make "identification" accessories in the Greek style for friends. Buy the cheapest chains. Cut out the names of the gods from cardboard in a themed font. Make a hole in the first letter, in the middle closer to the edge, put it on a chain (the name will be like a pendant). Spray the chain (if it is not under gold) and the cardboard with gold spray paint.

Menu, serving

The feast is just a cornucopia! Buffet? Maybe a party-friendly buffet? In general, there is no difference in how treats are served. The main thing is to arrange all the dishes of the menu in a sophisticated and refined way, because the almighty gods will eat them!

Linen or delicate olive-colored textiles, napkins in gilded rings, thin glassware or, conversely, coarse earthenware. Fresh flowers, a lot of fresh fragrant greens and olives, ornaments on dishes and fabrics.

Large fruit and cheese plates(don't forget about brynza!), lots of vegetables, lamb and pork, fish dishes and seafood. Assorted for the sweet tooth - traditional snappy, loukoumades, baklava, kumquat, poniruli. Recipes are elementary, despite the wonderful names. And very tasty! Drinks - red and white wines, vodka - anise / grape, fruit juices / cocktails.

Cabbage rolls were invented by the Greeks before our era:

Traditional moussaka: baked eggplant, layer of lamb with tomatoes or potatoes with mushrooms, bechamel sauce:

Greek salad can be served in small bowls or on slices of bread - with olives, spicy, garlic, onion:

Entertainment

The most obvious Greek party scenario is the Olympics! Of course, the gods should not compete like pathetic mortals. But how not to show yourself surrounded by beauties, but to the groovy music and intoxicating grape nectar?

Appropriate music - traditional Greek, but in a modern way, "stylized". You can download the compositions of Protopsali, Theodorakis, Muskouri, Antonio Remos. Dance sirtaki, hasapiko and sirtos - the movements are very simple!

If you are preparing a holiday for children, consider some creative entertainment. You can make a mosaic of buckwheat, beans and peas, assemble a thematic puzzle or hold a quiz. By the way, adult guests also like cartoons, puzzles and other intellectual tasks as a break from active games. Moreover, the Greek sages loved to strain their own minds and bright minds of young students in this way.

So, the Olympic Games. All the competitions for the Greek party described below are just a convention. They can be replaced with suitable competitions/games of your choice.

horse racing

  • saddling wooden horses, racing to the finish line;
  • wind an unwound long rope onto a stick, at the end of which a toy horse is tied;
  • if the party is outdoors, put the girls in cars and push them to the happy squeal to the end of the track!

martial arts

Although it's entirely in the Greek style, it's somehow not right to hit each other's faces at a holiday ... Although some guests may be delighted with a friendly boxing match. If there are none, then choose contests to test dexterity and strength:

  • beat the opponent with pillows, trying to throw him off the platform, crossbar, bench;
  • pull weights (who more times?)
  • carry the girls in your arms. How much will you carry at the same time.

The host must follow and stop the most active guests in time - you will need strength for other competitions, you should not overstrain.

Creative competitions

Today they are not included in the Olympic Games. And before, Greek bards and poets competed in eloquence and were rewarded no less generously than jumping boxers. Include one or more contests in your script, such as a short break from the hustle and bustle of the party. For example:

  • Take it in turns to come up with toasts or birthday greetings that include three words from the chosen card. Inscriptions of this kind: harp, polystyrene, dental crown. Those. one word is thematic, and the other two are absurd combinations. It will be fun!
  • distribute the lyrics to the guests. Damam - "My Greek God" by Tatyana Kotova. Very hot, melodic - it makes you want to dance with your hips! For men - "Zeus, Odin and Perun" Garlic Kings. A funny fast song that should rather be read or even yelled, taking in more air into the lungs (that is, it does not require special vocal abilities - that's it!).

Download music, you can along with the words - it's easier to sing along. Check the texts - the slightest inaccuracies will introduce Greek bards into confusion right during the performance.

Pentathlon

These are several competitions in the style of the Greek pentathlon. Traditionally: wrestling, jumping, running, javelin and discus throwing. In nature, you can change almost nothing - measure strength in any way, arrange a short-distance race, throw knives at a target instead of spears, throw a frisbee (who is further) and long jump.

But indoors, such tasks are unlikely to be appropriate, so offer party guests a themed alternative. For example, instead of Greek wrestling, arm wrestling is suitable. Instead of spears - darts and a target with the face of Hades, Gorgon or Chimera. Disks will replace balloons - "throwing" them at a distance is much more difficult, but fun! And running and jumping can be combined into a relay race: start-finish, on the way there are boxes that need to be jumped over, at the finish line there is a decanter of wine and glasses. He ran, drank to the health of the hero of the occasion, ran and jumped back. Next team player, let's go!

Jewelry, key rings and other little things in the Greek style are suitable as memorable gifts., tickets for a historical film or CD, sweets, fruit baskets, wine. Make joke diplomas or "real" Olympic medals for all your friends - a trifle that will remind you of a well-organized Greek party for a long time to come!

Every person on Earth at least once dreamed of becoming a god, all-powerful and all-powerful. Unfortunately, in real life it's impossible. But you can transform into the gods, for example, of Ancient Greece and plunge into the world of majesty and Olympic pathos. Thus, it will turn out to organize a great birthday surprise in the Greek style. In addition, everyone has been familiar with ancient Greek mythology since childhood, and even general superficial knowledge is enough to feel the atmosphere of antiquity.

First of all, in organizing this event, it is worth dividing the roles and not forgetting. Fortunately, the Greek pantheon of gods allows you to choose the most suitable image for yourself with the corresponding characteristics of the hero and personal qualities. We provide a small list of gods to choose from, so that each invitee can find their own prototype of a god and create his unique image.

For girls:

  • Hera is the supreme goddess, the wife of Zeus. She is the queen among the Greek gods, so greatness must be shown in her image. A crown will complete the look.
  • Athena is a wise warrior woman. Fair and serious, her look is perfectly complemented by a red toga and a helmet.
  • Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty. Lightness and coquetry should be present in every movement.
  • Artemis is the goddess of hunting and patroness of animals. An integral attribute will be a bow and arrows, and a toga with an animal print (leopard, tiger) and fur is allowed in the costume.
  • Persephone is the goddess of the underworld. Against the backdrop of beautiful goddesses, she stands out with a black toga and aggressive dark makeup.
  • Demeter - goddess of fertility and patroness Agriculture. She is calm, her image is as close to nature as possible.

For men:

  • Zeus is the main Olympian god. The obligatory details of his image are a trident that shoots lightning, a crown and a chic beard, Zeus walked in a red or gold mantle.
  • Ares is the god of war, the most courageous and fearless. The blood-colored toga and helmet are must-haves.
  • Poseidon is the god of the water element. It has a changeable mood, like the water surface. Toga of marine shades.
  • Eros is the god of love and desire. Strong and beautiful seducer and conqueror of all women's hearts.
  • Apollo is the god of arts, light and the patron of the muses. Dreamer and romantic, he is always in his thoughts. A handsome long-haired young man with a wreath on his head.
  • Hades is the god of the realm of the dead. His image is not just gloomy, it is sinister and frightening.
  • Dionysus is the god of winemaking and the fruitful forces of the earth. With a vine wreath on his head, he sings songs and enjoys life.

Next, decorate the room. The hall for the celebration should be in bright colors (shades of white and gold), a lot of light is welcome. Gold and white candles, light flowing textiles with a geometric pattern specific to Greece, laurel wreaths and an abundance of fresh flowers and green branches will also add Greek flavor. For a complete "relocation" to Olympus, print out posters of Greek landscapes and attach them to the walls.

Greeks prefer light but hearty food. Therefore, there should be an abundance of vegetables, seafood, olives and lean meats on the table. And, of course, an abundance of wine in beautiful amphoras. It will not only look beautiful, but in earthenware vessels, drinks retain their freshness and coolness longer.

The ancient Greek gods did not like to be bored, they had a lot of all kinds of entertainment: the Olympic Games, theaters, gladiator fights, the battle of the gods for supremacy - this list can be made interesting contests appropriate for your company. It is desirable that guests during the entire event (when congratulating a birthday person, when participating in competitions, in a personal conversation) behave in accordance with the chosen roles. At the end of the holiday, you can learn the national Greek dance - sirtaki.

In 1964, the world saw the famous film Zorba the Greek, after the release of which, Greece and Sirtaki became inseparable concepts. And few people know that until that time, the main and favorite national dance of this country was considered "hasapiko" (butchers' dance, containing, however, some elements of modern sirtaki). The music for the Sirtaki dance was written by the Greek composer Mikas Theodorakis. He was also involved in staging the first of its kind dance for the filming of Zorba.

I will not retell you the amazing story of the appearance of sirtaki in Greece, but I will only recommend one thing: be sure to make this friendly, unifying dance part of entertainment program. And look for the original music of M. Theodorakis!

GREEK PARTY MUSIC

Nikos Zydakis "Kairos Nafplion Hartoum". The expressive songs of this singer make you fall in love with Greece without memory. For those who have ever been there, the artist's heartfelt lyrics will help to feel the spirit of this land again, and for those who still dream of visiting, they will help to quickly decide on the choice of a tour for the upcoming vacation!

Soundtracks to the film "My Big Greek Wedding"

A fun selection from the movie that won the hearts of many comedy movie fans will not let anyone feel sad at your party!

Charis Alexiou "Dialogue zuria eta urdina".

Patriotic music of modern Greece.

Nana Mouskouri Very Best

Ethnic rhythms of Greece, in modern electronic processing.

Yanni "Concert at the Acropolis"

"Dance of the Ghosts of Heaven"

The most popular collection of hits of the 90s in Greece today.

The music I have chosen is good because most of the original Greek dances can be danced to it: hosapiko (butcher dance), zeybekiko (partisan dance), tsifteteli (erotic dance, the Greek version of oriental belly dance). So - take your time and make a competent music playlist for your long-awaited holiday!

ENTERTAINMENT

The entertainment program of a Greek-style party can be built based on several main themes:

1 . Wars of the gods of Olympus

2. Spartan battles

3. Olympic Games

4. Modern Greece

But I propose to combine all the topics into one time chain, thus giving each hero of the holiday the opportunity to express himself and the dignity of his costume, whether it be a Spartan outfit, or a sundress of a modern tourist in love with Greece.

So, GREECE - THE WARS OF THE GODS OF OLYMPUS FOR POWER.

Let the guests dressed in costumes of Zeus, Aphrodite, Hera, Demeter, Hecate, Eros and other representatives of the ancient Greek divine pantheon become the main characters of this part of the entertainment program.

Game 1. "Master class from Zeus"

Give guests a backstory. For example, tell them that the mighty Zeus was angry with the earthlings because they dared to violate the laws he established, did not honor the ancient temples and did not make sacrifices. The wrath of Zeus was terrible! He threw lightning and thundered through the sky on his chariot.

Props: target for darts, darts in the form of lightning.

Rules: each of the participants has the right to release three "lightning bolts". Those whose "lightning" will be as close as possible to the apple - go to the second round of the battle. Finalists - again throw "lightning bolts" at the target three times. The winner is honorably seated on the throne of Zeus, presented with a goblet of wine and “pleasant the eye” with the beautiful tsifteteli dance.

Game 2. "Salad from Demeter"

The Greek people were not lucky in ancient times! What can you do! They just calmed down Zeus with his lightning, as Demeter (the goddess of the harvest) got angry! Usually she defended the fields and gardens of the village workers, but today she decided to destroy the crops with the help of a swarm of locusts! However, the pardon of the goddess can be achieved if you collect all the locusts without hands and make a salad out of it!

Props: jelly candy locust, bowl, vegetables.

Number of participants: at least two couples (2 guys and 2 girls).

Rules: before the start of the game, spread the jelly "locust" in wrappers around the table. Pairs of participants in the competition must catch the "locust" with their teeth, release it together from the packaging and put it in a bowl. The game continues until all the locusts are removed from the "field". The winner is the pair that has the most deployed "locusts" in the bowl.

Hera was known on Olympus for her love for kind, good women and faithful husbands. She always protected strong families from the jokes of other Olympians, and severely punished her wards for adultery. She amused herself by giving antlers to traitors. It was like this.

Props: antler.

Number of participants: all interested representatives of the same sex (only men, or only women).

Rules: all participants become in a circle. The horns are passed from one player to another as the music plays. The one who will have horns in his hands when the music stops sounding leaves the circle with the proud title of "cuckold". The last participant to remain in the circle wins and is rewarded with a kiss from Hera.

Game 4. "Apple of love from Aphrodite"

If Hera was an advocate of marital fidelity, then Aphrodite, on the contrary, encouraged “free love” in every possible way. She treated one of the young people with her apple, and they fell in love with the first girl they met. Don't believe? Try to play the following game at the party!

Props: apple, eye patch.

Members: all comers.

Rules: the guy becomes the center of the circle. They blindfold him and give him an apple. The girls dance around him. He must give the fruit to one of the girls with his eyes closed. The round dance stops. The guy removes the bandage. The girl who got the apple must hide the fruit while he removes the bandage. The guy's task is to guess the girl who took Aphrodite's gift from his hands. If you guessed right, he kisses the chosen one, and leaves the circle. Another male representative takes the place of the guy, who wants to try his luck. If he did not guess, he closes his eyes again and the game starts all over again.

In addition to such harmless games with the fate of the earthly Greeks, the celestials of Olympus also had fun, arranging wars between them. In ancient Greece, there was a whole power of invincible warriors - the legendary Sparta. There, from birth, they brought up indifferent to pain, iron men. However, sometimes the Spartans allowed themselves to attack their own. Then the warriors of other parts of Greece rebelled. What am I leading to? And to the fact that the time has come for the next historical round of time - SPARTAN BATTLE.

Game 5. "Spartan agoge"

The Spartan School of Military Education (Agoge) is still an example for many modern martial arts schools. Why not test the strength of the men of your holiday?

Props: spear, quail eggs.

Members: all comers.

Rules: our initiation into the Spartans will consist of two stages:

1. Overcoming an obstacle course (a labyrinth of chairs, ropes located at different levels, a lake, etc.) with a quail egg in the teeth. The task of the participant is to get from the start to the finish line as quickly as possible without breaking the egg.

2. Javelin throw (if the weather is good, it is better to hold the competition in the fresh air, in the yard or garden). Draw a starting line on the ground and mark the range of the spear (or just a straight stick pointed at one end) of each participant. Whoever throws the spear the farthest wins.

Game 6. "Gladiators of Sparta"

Who will be able to challenge the most powerful and evil Spartan? Who thinks he can defeat the best warrior of those times? Please, to the circus arena! The king is ready to raise his finger and announce the beginning of the duel! The people in the stands rejoice!

Members: only men (paired quantity, not less than two).

Rules: Spartan gladiators duel at your party will consist of two competitions:

1. Determination of the two most powerful warriors (classic arm wrestling).

2. A popular game in Greece: "Push out of the circle." Its essence is to force the enemy to step over the line drawn on the ground circle. Two arm wrestling winners stand in the center of the circle, take each other by the shoulders and push to the line. Anyone who even crosses the line with the corner of their foot loses. Well, the winner - a laurel wreath and all the honors from the king and queens!

The ancient peoples always wanted "bread and circuses." And yet - by the will of the gods or times - they suffered from an irrepressible thirst for blood. Here and there, centers of civil strife broke out in Ancient Greece, the Greek states ruined each other in endless wars. And then one day, Ifit, the king of Elis, decided to seek advice from the Delphic oracle, to ask what needs to be done in order to avoid wars and devastation. The oracle advised "To establish games pleasing to the gods." So, from the ninth century. BC e., the Greeks (and with them almost the whole world), gather every four years to participate in "bloodless" competitions and determine which state is stronger.

The next round of time, you guessed it, OLYMPIC GAMES.

Game 7. "Sprint"

Now, as in ancient times, "sprinting" is a sprint. Just on a party scale, try not to turn the run from fun into a really exhausting sporting event.

Rules: draw (in the garden or in the yard) two lines - start and finish. The task of the participants is clear - to run for the maximum a short time from one point to another.

Game 8

For this competition, you will need some handy tools (for example, a "chariot" made from a cardboard box, ropes and a little imagination.

Props: cardboard boxes, ropes.

Number of participants: at least two triples (two "knights" and one "rider").

Rules: riders, dressed in cardboard chariots, and their “horses” (two more people who are “harnessed” into “chariots”) stand on the starting line. At the command "march!", the race begins. The first three who come (run) to the finish line wins.

Game 9

Props: disks (plastic plates).

Essence of the task: throw a plate (disk) to the maximum distance.

Let me remind you again, try not to tire your guests too much with sports (albeit fun) games. Let the feast be a feast, not an exhausting contest of 880 B.C.

Well, to complete the entertainment part of the Greek party, I recommend a collective friendly sirtaki - a favorite dance of tourists, and a "trick" of modern hospitable Greece.

GREEK STYLE FOOD AND DRINK

What is the basis of Greek traditional cuisine? Olives and olive oil, lemons, eggplant, tomatoes, lamb, honey, seafood and herbs. Knowing this, you can start planning the menu for your Greek-style party!

The first dish that I advise you to serve on the festive table is "Platter Meze" - small canapes with cheese, olives and tomatoes. As the Greeks say, they must be so small that they can be eaten in "one bite"!

To the dish, experts advise serving the no less famous Greek strawberry liqueur.

As a second course, you can serve Lamb Souvlaki with Tzatziki (lamb baked in pita bread with vegetables), as well as Greek salad with Feta cheese, olives and shrimp. Lamb (and indeed hot dishes in general) are well served with red wine and Greek beer.

And for dessert, bring your favorite and insanely delicious Greek delicacy - baklava with honey and nuts! And with baklava, serve the world-famous Greek coffee.

I wish you a successful holiday in the Greek style! So that even the ancient gods of Olympus looked at you from their mythical heights and smiled approvingly! So that all guests, without exception, ask to repeat the celebration as soon as possible!
