Technology for the production of composite reinforcement. Business plan for the production of fiberglass reinforcement

At modern construction sites, a wide variety of objects, structures and structures can increasingly be seen instead of metal reinforcement. An alternative reinforcing material made from a composite raises many questions: consumers are interested in the composition of the rods, application features, characteristics and, of course, the production technology of fiberglass reinforcement.

The main component in the production of composite rods is roving - a special glass fiber with a thickness of 10-20 microns. Special resins are used to connect large quantities of glass fibers together into a strong rod. In addition, in technological process Acetone, dicyandiamide and ethyl alcohol are also used in the manufacture of fiberglass reinforcement. If spiral-wound rods are produced, then fiber for winding is also required.

Composite rod production line

It should be noted that the manufacturing process of fiberglass reinforcement today is considered high-tech and is carried out on a fully automated production line with minimal human intervention. A continuous drawing line is maintained by an operator who controls the process, and the production of fittings can be carried out around the clock.

  1. In production technology composite reinforcement it all starts with a mechanism - a creel, which simultaneously feeds about 60 glass threads into the tension mechanism.
  2. After equalizing the tension of all fibers, the threads are located in in the necessary order and merge into one stream.
  3. Next, the threads go through the stage heat treatment, where excess moisture, oil, dust and other contaminants are removed from the fibers.
  4. The next stage of the rod manufacturing technology is to immerse the fibers in a bath of heated binders.
  5. Fibers impregnated with resins are pulled through a mechanism that forms the diameter of the future rod. If a rod with a winding is produced, then spiral winding of the fiber follows.
  6. In the next oven, the resins that bind the fibers undergo a polymerization process.
  7. At the next stage, the rod is cooled and finally either fed into coils on a special device or cut into pieces of standard length.

Composite rebar is reinforcement made from composite materials rather than steel. Their components are glass roving and/or basalt fibers, which are held together by polymer binders. It, unlike metal, is not welded, but is held together with special clamps. Composite reinforcement is also known as “non-metallic”.

Here we will talk about the production of composite (fiberglass and basalt-plastic) reinforcement, its manufacturing technology, raw materials and equipment for this business.

Composite reinforcement is used primarily, of course, in construction, but it can also be used in everyday life, for example, for assembling greenhouses.

Video review of the material and its advantages

A short visual video about what it is:

The main advantages of composite reinforcement:

  1. When compared with metal, composite has a significantly higher strength index - 1100 MPa, and standard steel - only 390 MPa. Tensile strength compared to steel reinforcement class A III is three times greater;
  2. Composite reinforcement is a corrosion-resistant material;
  3. Ideal for use in seawater as it is not subject to acid corrosion;
  4. More resilient than steel;
  5. Does not conduct electric current;
  6. Does not conduct heat energy;
  7. Composite reinforcement is radio transparent;
  8. Does not change its strength characteristics under the influence of electromagnetic fields;
  9. Does not change its strength characteristics under the influence low temperatures(up to -70 °C);
  10. Significantly lighter (more than nine times) compared to metal fittings.

Regardless of the required and desired volume, the production of fiberglass reinforcement requires investments in the amount of 4-16 million rubles.

Technology and equipment for production

Raw materials for the production of composite reinforcement:

  1. Roving (basalt and/or glass roving);
  2. Resins;
  3. Braiding thread (roving that will be used for winding);
  4. Acetone;
  5. Ethanol;
  6. Dicyandiamide.

The raw materials may have a different composition.

Fiberglass (FRP) and basalt-plastic (BPA) reinforcement are the most popular today in Russia, but there is also a combined type - a rod made of fiberglass, and the relief (ribs) from “basalt”.

Thermosetting synthetic resins, including organosilicon and phenol-aldehyde resins (harden during the polycondensation reaction), most often act as binding elements; epoxy and unsaturated (do not emit by-products during the curing process).

Other polymers that have occupied a strong niche include polyimide, polybenzimidazole and polybenzothiosol. These resins are often used with the addition of other polymers.

In order to obtain fiberglass reinforcement at the output with high level resistance to various types of corrosion, an epoxyphenol binder should be used. The polyester binder will give the reinforcement increased electrical properties.

For one kilogram of fiberglass reinforcement, you should use 0.862 glass roving brands such as RBN-10-2520 or RBN-10-2520-4E; epoxy resin requires 0.134 of the following grades: ED-20 or ZIS-1; phenol-formaldehyde resin will require 0.116 grade LBS-1; dicyandiamide – 0.03; ethyl alcohol – 0.015; weave thread – 0.01 kg; acetone – 0.021.

The basis for the production of non-metallic reinforcement has become the traditional method of producing fiberglass plastics - drying and unwinding the fiber, impregnating it with a binder, polymerization.

Video of the manufacturing process:

Equipment for the production of composite reinforcement (fiberglass or basalt plastic):

Line device (it may be different). Prices for such lines start from RUB 3,000,000.

The principle of continuous drawing makes it possible to produce non-metallic reinforcement from any type of fiber, taking into account its manufacturability and temperature conditions hardening of binders.

1. PROJECT SUMMARY

The goal of the project is to organize an enterprise for the production of fiberglass reinforcement. Location – village. Reconstructor of the Rostov region. Sales are carried out directly to construction and installation organizations, as well as to wholesale warehouses of building materials.

Production is located on rented premises, equipment is purchased as property. The production technology is transferred along with the equipment by its supplier. The project is characterized by high profitability and an average degree of risk, which is associated primarily with the relative novelty of the product for Russian market. In addition, high business profitability is ensured by the simplicity of the manufacturing technology of this product.

Integral indicators of the project’s effectiveness allow us to judge its high investment attractiveness (Table 1).

2. DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY AND INDUSTRY

Reinforcement is one of the materials most used in construction. It is used to strengthen concrete building parts and structures. Concrete structures reinforced with reinforcement are called reinforced concrete. Historically, steel reinforcement is used for this, the production of which is quite material and capital intensive. At the same time, it has a number of weaknesses: instability to corrosion, high weight, etc. Fiberglass reinforcement is a modern alternative - it is much lighter and is not subject to negative influences environment, and the costs of its production are minimal.

Production, in order to reduce the cost of renting premises, is located within 10 km from Rostov-on-Don, in the village. Reenactor. Sales region - Rostov region. Considering the fact of stable growth in construction volumes, even in difficult economic conditions, the sales market for fittings is very wide. According to Rostovstat, in 2015, more than 575,000 m2 of housing were put into operation in the Rostov region, which is 13% more than in 2014. 52% of this volume is accounted for by individual housing construction. Industrial construction and construction of public buildings do not show such growth rates, but construction volumes are stable.

The technology of frame-monolithic construction, which is widespread today, involves the use of reinforcement in large volumes. Thus, the main distribution channel is the supply of material directly to construction sites by agreement with the construction and installation organization performing concrete work. In addition, about 10% of the total volume is planned to be sold through building materials databases, where they can be purchased by private individuals for individual construction.

The level of competition in the segment is quite high. In addition, this type of product does not have pronounced consumer properties; there are analogues and substitutes on the market. Traditional steel reinforcement is the most commonly used, accounting for at least 70% of the market. However, through high-quality processing of the regional market, it is possible to go beyond the remaining 30% of fiberglass, thus expanding the boundaries of the market.

To meet revenue targets, the company must have partnerships with a number of construction organizations. On this moment the owner of the enterprise has established relationships with a number of design and construction organizations, which, according to preliminary estimates, can guarantee the sale of up to 50% of the planned production volume of fittings. To ensure the required level of sales, the company has two sales representatives on staff who are constantly processing the market, searching for objects and partners.

The project is not limited in time, however strategic planning carried out for a period of five years. According to the main vision of the owner, based on the results of five years of work, the enterprise’s market share should be at least 10% of the volume of fiberglass reinforcement and at least 3% of the total volume of the regional market.

An appropriate organizational and legal form for of this enterprise is an individual entrepreneur, based on the results of a comparison of various options, a simplified taxation system with the object “income minus expenses” was chosen. The amount of required investment costs is 3.33 million rubles, a significant share of which falls on the purchase of equipment and the formation of working capital until the payback period is achieved. Also, an initial purchase of raw materials for 1.5 million rubles is expected.

3. DESCRIPTION OF GOODS

The only product of this production is fiberglass reinforcement of various sections - 4, 6, 8 and 10 mm. The supplier of equipment for its production also provides certificates and test results for products manufactured using the proposed technology. Fiberglass reinforcement is characterized by: low specific gravity, resistance to aggressive environments, low thermal conductivity and a lower elastic modulus.

By appearance The reinforcement is a bar of periodic cross-section, similar to steel reinforcement. According to research results, fiberglass reinforcement can be used:

For reinforcing concrete structures, both independently and together with metal reinforcement;

In reinforced structures used in aggressive environments that cause corrosion of steel reinforcement;

When repairing reinforced concrete structures damaged by exposure to aggressive environments;

For thin-walled structures in which it is impossible to provide the required thickness of the protective layer;

In concrete with a high content of active mineral additives;

In monolithic concrete when adding frost-resistant chloride additives;

In porous and large-porous concrete;

For reinforcing brickwork, primarily when introducing anti-frost additives.

Thus, we can conclude that the scope of application of fiberglass reinforcement is even wider than that of steel. It can be used in both rods and meshes, tied with polymer thread and treated with epoxy resin.

According to the physical and mechanical characteristics, it is allowed to reduce the profile of fiberglass reinforcement compared to metal by 1 dimensional step: a 6 mm diameter metal rod can be replaced with a 4 mm diameter fiberglass rod, etc. This has a significantly positive effect on the cost of the finished concrete structure.

For the production of fiberglass reinforcement, two main components are used: glass roving and a compound as a binder. The type of roving is selected depending on the environment and conditions in which the concrete structure will be used. The cost of this raw material forms the production cost of the fittings. An important point is the need to use funds personal protection when working with fiberglass reinforcement to prevent glass dust from entering the skin and respiratory system.

4. SALES AND MARKETING

The main sales channel is direct supply of material to construction sites in the city and region (90% of sales volume). Minor – retail through building materials databases (10% of sales volume).

This niche is not diversified by price; competitors' prices are approximately at the same level. The physical and mechanical properties are also practically the same. Therefore, it is necessary to provide the necessary additional service, as well as flexible terms of delivery and payment. Connections within a given market and partnerships with its participants are also important.

Personal connections of the owner of the enterprise with construction and installation organizations in the region, developed over many years, make it possible to ensure from 40 to 50% of the planned sales volume. The remaining sales are handled by the company's sales representatives covering the civil, industrial and road construction markets. For this type of product, project sales are important, in which each construction project is processed from all possible angles. Work is carried out with:

Design organizations;

Construction organizations (general contractor);

Installation organizations (subcontractors).

Ready ideas for your business

To provide additional services, the company employs a technical specialist who, at the request of the designer or contractor, can calculate and provide a technical justification for replacing steel reinforcement with non-metallic reinforcement.

The actual shipment is carried out by a sales specialist who issues invoices, monitors their payment and compliance with the agreed payment terms. Transportation of goods is carried out by the customer, or with the involvement of a transport company.

Competition in this segment is quite high. An analysis of open sources shows the presence of more than 70 organizations for the request “Rostov fittings” and about 20 for the request “Fiberglass fittings Rostov”. Direct competitors can be considered organizations that sell both types of fittings. However, their approach to organizing sales is different.

Steel reinforcement suppliers typically offer a wide range of and other steel building materials and structures. Often this large factories or trading companies. Due to complex delivery they have the opportunity to conclude lucrative contracts. Work is carried out mainly with representatives of supply departments. Suppliers of non-metallic fittings are small businesses specializing in the production of one type of product. Neither the first nor the second, as a rule, lead to serious project work. For this reason, to ensure maximum competitiveness, the concentration of enterprise specialists on it is required.

Particular attention should be paid to industrial facilities with chemically aggressive production facilities. In some cases, large specialized design and construction organizations from other regions are involved in the construction of such projects. Work is also carried out with them, for which business trips of sales representatives and a technical specialist are organized.

Demand has a pronounced seasonality, coinciding with general construction seasonality. Peaks occur in spring and late summer - early autumn.

Ready ideas for your business

The pricing policy of the organization is regulated by the market framework and is at the average market level. At the same time, the recommendations of an equipment supplier who has experience in developing similar business projects are also taken into account. However, a flexible discount policy is provided depending on the volume of purchases, as well as depending on the status and importance of the construction project. There is also a discount for full prepayment.

For passive promotion of goods, placement in printed and online catalogs of the region is used with periodic priority allocation of an advertising module - immediately before the start of the construction season and during it. Advertising costs are calculated on an annual basis for each month.

5. PRODUCTION PLAN

The equipment is purchased from its direct manufacturer, who has extensive knowledge in the field of production and sales of non-metallic fittings. The production technology is also purchased with the set of equipment. If there are several offers for equipment on the market, the choice is determined by the widest warranty and service support program, as well as the quality of the equipment, even at slightly higher high cost equipment.

When concluding a supply agreement with the equipment manufacturer, an advance payment of 20% is made, the remaining amount is transferred upon delivery of the equipment. Delivery time – 7 calendar days. The manufacturer installs and configures the equipment, and also conducts on-the-job training of personnel. This stage also takes about 7 calendar days. The required dimensions of the production premises are 15x5 m (75 m2). There are no special requirements for the premises.

The line capacity (two bars) is about 10,000 m of ASP-6 reinforcement per 8-hour shift. As the rod diameter increases, productivity decreases proportionally. The advantage of the purchased equipment is the possibility of round-the-clock operation, as well as the ability to change the diameter of the rod without stopping the line.

In parallel with the training stage, the first batch of raw materials for production is purchased. The main components are: glass roving (thread) and binding material (epoxy resin, hardener, catalyst, plasticizer). The supplier of raw materials is selected on the basis of the best price-quality ratio, while the convenience and cost of logistics play an important role.

The production line allows you to produce two bars of reinforcement at the same time. Two operators are required to operate the line. For execution auxiliary works– control of coil winding, transportation to the warehouse, movement of goods in the warehouse – there is an auxiliary worker on staff.

Production is planned in accordance with the sales plan and seasonality. Also, taking into account the possibility of trouble-free reconfiguration of the line, it is possible to produce a certain volume of products to order if there is an urgent need to complete the facility.

A detailed production plan is given in Appendix 1.

6. ORGANIZATIONAL PLAN

The management of the enterprise is carried out directly by the owner. The owner has experience in the building materials market and has established connections with market participants; has business experience.

The organizational chart of the enterprise is shown in Fig. 1. Staffing table enterprises are reflected in Table. 5.

8. EVALUATION OF EFFECTIVENESS

Project effectiveness is assessed based on the calculation of integral performance indicators accepted in global practice. To take into account the future value of the invested funds, the discount rate adopted for this project at the level of 10% is used, since the product and technology are known and are not, in fact, innovative; the market is also sufficiently researched and is not subject to sharp fluctuations.

The calculated integral indicators of the project are given in Table. 1. Their analysis shows the high investment attractiveness of the project. The payback period of the project is 17 months, and the net profit over five years will be 26.4 million rubles.

9. RISKS AND GUARANTEES

The main risks associated with the implementation of the project include:

Decrease in construction volumes;

Rising prices for raw materials;

Failure to fulfill the sales plan.

The first two factors cannot be regulated by the enterprise. It is only possible to conclude a long-term contract with a supplier indicating the conditions for fixing the price for a certain period.

Failure to fulfill the sales plan has a low probability of implementation, since the sale of the main part of the product is essentially guaranteed. However, it is necessary to provide for the creation of a reserve fund of the enterprise, and also pay considerable attention to the selection of sales representatives.

What is fiberglass composite reinforcement actually made of?

Answers CEO LLC "Obninsk Composite Materials Plant" Klimenko Maxim Vladimirovich:

"Good afternoon. Firstly, I would like to immediately note that the products of Obninsk Composite Materials Plant LLC have been produced for 3 years only from the best binding materials and foreign-made fiberglass.
We put "at the forefront" product quality, therefore, agreements have been concluded with world leaders for the production of raw materials for the production of composite materials. What is fiberglass composite reinforcement actually made of?

This is the main material in the production of composite fiberglass reinforcement. The Jushi company (Yushi or Jushi) produces glass rovings based on modified silane lubricants No. 386 and No. 312, which are specially developed and successfully used together in the production of composite fiberglass products using the pultrusion method.
Glass roving manufactured by Jushi is currently the highest quality product on the fiberglass market. It can withstand enormous breaking loads, surpassing its competitors several times over. Obninsk Composite Materials Plant is the main consumer of Jushi fiberglass in Russia and we have an agreement for the supply of glass roving.

Epoxy resin is the main polymer used in the production of fiberglass reinforcement. For the production of fiberglass by pultrusion, including in the production of composite fiberglass reinforcement, supports - pegs for plants and other products, we use high-quality epoxy resins CYD 128, produced by Sinopec (China) and epoxy resins KER 828, produced by the South Korean brand Kumho. The Obninsk Composite Materials Plant also has long-term contracts with these companies for the supply of epoxy resins.

IMHPA (Isomethyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride) is the main hardener in the production of fiberglass reinforcement. IMTHF is ideal for high temperature curing of epoxy resins. The production of fiberglass reinforcement occurs when high temperatures in special ovens, the temperature reaches 340C. Therefore, when using IMTHF, composite products acquire excellent physical and mechanical properties and high strength characteristics.

Catalyst is a special compound that combines the properties of Diethylene Glycol Diglycidyl Ether (DEG-1) and Alcofen (DMP). When using these components final product acquires high properties resistance to chemical attack."

Fiberglass reinforcement (FRP) is gradually replacing conventional metal reinforcement. This construction material actively used in developed countries peace. In Russia it is still not widespread (the market share is about 5%), although construction companies are increasingly switching to fiberglass (the trend is typical for cities with a population of one million).

Production of composite reinforcement - promising direction for business. In this regard, we will tell you how to organize manufacturing process and we will touch on all the points important for the success of the business.

Main characteristics and advantages of TSA

Fiberglass reinforcement - composite material with a complex composition. It is glass fiber hardened in a reinforcing rod, “bound” with synthetic resins. These resins combine super-strong glass fibers into one whole, which protect against mechanical damage and aggressive environmental influences.

ASP has high tensile strength - 2-3 times stronger than steel analogues. It is lightweight - 6-9 times lighter than steel reinforcement. It is not subject to corrosion, is resistant to water (sea or fresh), and has a high elasticity index. The composite is a dielectric, is not affected by electromagnetic fields, and is completely chemically inert. The guaranteed service life of the ASP is 100 years.

It is important for business that the cost of such fittings is lower than the cost of metal ones.

Scope of application of fiberglass reinforcement

Building materials are used in various fields of construction:

  • in road and industrial-civil construction (creation of bridges and airfields);
  • when reinforcing all types of foundations (as rods and meshes);
  • when reinforcing concrete structures - including in environments that are aggressive to metals;
  • to strengthen various types concrete using chloride and mineral additives;
  • during the construction of agricultural facilities (due to the absence of fumes harmful to animals);
  • for strengthening brick buildings, walls;
  • when creating all types of water disposal and sewerage systems;
  • to strengthen the shore in ports.

ASP belongs to hazard class 4 (low hazard), non-toxic. It can be used in housing construction.

Market situation

The leaders in the use of non-metallic reinforcement are the USA, Japan and China with shares of 40%, 35% and 30%, respectively. Entrepreneurs in Russia are showing great interest in this building material. According to the forecast, by 2021 the TSA market is expected to expand by 11.4% annually, and the Russian Federation has good prospects in this regard.

Construction volumes in our country have returned to stable growth after a noticeable drop in last years. According to the Ministry of Construction, as of the beginning of May 2018, 16.7% more housing (20.2 million sq. m.) was put into operation compared to the same period in 2017.

Construction companies and private developers strive to minimize the cost of housing without compromising quality, and this opens a window of opportunity for the production of composite reinforcement.

Production technology

Building materials are produced using special equipment. The process is automated, the staff only controls and maintains the equipment.

  1. The fiberglass strands are heated and soaked in resin.
  2. The threads are collected into a bundle, tied into one whole, and pulled through a spinneret (holes of a certain diameter).
  3. The resulting rods pass through a polymerization chamber (tunnel oven) and are processed at high temperature.
  4. The composite reinforcement is cooled and dried.
  5. TSA is wound into coils or cut into pieces the right size followed by stacking according to diameter.

You can make reinforcement of any design length.

Start-up investments

To organize this business you do not need a lot of money.

Table 1. The amount of initial costs by item for the production of fiberglass reinforcement.

The main expense item is production equipment. IN additional costs The costs of preparing the premises, fuels and lubricants, and electricity are taken into account.

The calculations are relevant for a city with a population of up to 1 million people.

Raw materials

As the main raw material, the production of fiberglass reinforcement uses glass roving - molten glass fiber in the form of threads 10-20 microns thick. These threads are collected in bundles impregnated with a special lubricant. Instead of glass, basalt and carbon fiber can be used.

Synthetic resins and polymers are needed. Phenolic and epoxy resins harden at the final stage of production, “tying” the threads into a super-strong rod. Epoxy resins do not emit harmful substances during production. Various polymers are also added (polybenzothiosol, polybenzimidazole, polyamide), which improve the characteristics of the ASP.

You also need ethyl alcohol, acetone and a hardener (dicyandiamide).

There are many manufacturers of raw materials for polymer reinforcement on the market. It is important to buy only high-quality materials made in accordance with all technical standards.

Documentation

The entrepreneur will sell the products construction organizations, to Work with wholesale and retail companies, supply large quantities of goods. It is recommended to open a business in the form legal entity(OOO). This is more expensive and will require more time, but will allow you to work with major players On the market.

There is no special OKVED code “Manufacture of fiberglass reinforcement”. You can choose from the following:

  • 23.19 “Production and processing of other glass products, including technical products from glass".
  • 23.14 “Production of fiberglass.”
  • 36.63.7 “Production of other products not included in other groups.”

All standards and requirements for building materials are given in GOST 31938-2012, adopted in 2012. In addition to Russia, 7 other CIS countries adhere to it.

To operate, you need a certificate of compliance with GOST requirements.

Room

  • the length of the room where the equipment is located and production is carried out - from 25 m;
  • ceiling height - 2.5-3 m;
  • the presence of a flat floor with differences of no more than 5 cm;
  • the presence of a stable air temperature - 16-18° C. This means the presence of heating and air conditioning systems;
  • the presence of a good ventilation system.

Rent a room of 150 square meters. m. In addition to the workshop, place warehouses for raw materials and finished products, administrative premises, staff room, bathroom. Choose a location with convenient access roads and space for loading and unloading operations.

Equipment

Let's consider production line PLPSA-20 for the production of fittings with a diameter of 4-24 mm. Is different high performance: makes 2 bars at a time.

This is a set of devices for automated operation. Comprises:

  • devices for feeding glass roving threads;
  • tensioning device with the option of heating and impregnation with resin;
  • winding mechanism;
  • tunnel kiln;
  • long water cooling unit;
  • pulling device;
  • reinforcing bar cutter;
  • rod twisting mechanism, coil winder.

The line is controlled using a remote control. You can enable the option of cutting rods of a given length or twisting rods into coils. The resulting reinforcement has a constant cross-section, 1-2 stiffeners.

Staff

Recruit qualified employees.

It is better to “create” a senior operator yourself by sending the employee to the manufacturer/seller of the equipment for training. An accountant can be hired through outsourcing.

Sales of finished products

There are several channels for the sale of composite reinforcement:

For direct sales, you need to send information about the offer through various advertising channels (media, Internet, BTL promotions, posting advertisements). The implementation of ASP through wholesale and retail networks will allow concluding contracts for the supply of large volumes of goods, gaining a foothold and increasing market share.

It is most profitable to enter into long-term contracts with construction companies. This will allow production to be loaded to the maximum and sell more goods.

Financial plan: profitability and payback

  1. The amount of initial costs is RUB 2.635 million. (RUB 2.7 million).
  2. The cost of 1 linear meter of reinforcement with a diameter of 8 mm (the most common type) is 7.6 rubles.
  3. Line productivity is 7 m per minute. Accordingly, per month you can produce 7 m × 60 min × 8 hours × 22 d = 73,920 linear meters. m.
  4. Average price 1 lin. m of material on the market - 13 rubles. At this price, the net profit will be 5.4 rubles. (13 - 7.6). By selling all the products produced in a month, you can earn almost 400 thousand rubles.
