Hello my dears!

IN Lately I'm just crazy about DIY die cuts!
And I’m not only talking about the design (it’s nice when you can draw whatever comes to mind and use it in scrapbooking =)), but also about the finished result: printed and cut out die-cuts.

People often ask me how and what I print and cut them on, so I decided to write this note. Hope it answers your questions and helps you!

So, you downloaded a set of die cuts (in other words, pictures), what should you do with them?
First, you need to arrange them on a sheet of paper for printing.

It is most profitable to print many elements on A4 sheet, so open Photoshop and create new document A4 format with a resolution of 300 dots (this is the ideal resolution for printing)

1. Create a new document File > New (File > New) A4 size and 300 pixels resolution

2. Open the pictures (cuts) in Photoshop. Using the Marque Tool (Frame), select the element and press Ctrl+C on the keyboard (copy the image to the clipboard)
3. Select our A4 file again and press Ctrl+V on the keyboard (paste image from buffer)

4. Using the Move Tool (Move), we move our die cut to where we need it

5. Repeat steps 2-4 with other cuttings/pictures

6. Send the file for printing File> Print (File> Print)

Once the printer has printed the sheet, you can cut out the die cuts by hand.

So, we figured out how to print. And with what and on what?

What to print with?
I have an Epson L800 photo printer and I am absolutely happy with the way it prints. You can use your own printer, it is better, of course, if it is a photo printer - their print quality is higher.

What to print on?
I use many types of paper and the choice depends on the specific project.
I print on watercolor and drafting paper, on various types Lomond paper and some other manufacturers.
The most striking results are obtained on Lomond single-sided matte photo paper. The cuttings turn out very juicy! But the paper itself is somewhat thin (160 g), although this doesn’t bother me personally.
Watercolor paper gives paler colors, but it has a pleasant texture :) And another tip, if you are printing inscriptions, it is better not to use watercolor paper: due to the texture, small inscriptions may not be very clear
Drawing paper: Smooth and thick, resulting in very nice die cuts! In addition, this is a fairly affordable material; such paper is easy to find on sale.
