    This job description has been developed in accordance with the provisions (requirements) Labor Code Russian Federation dated December 30, 2001 No. 197 Federal Law (Labor Code of the Russian Federation) (as amended and supplemented), professional standard“Employee for the operation of equipment for underground gas storage facilities” approved by order of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation dated March 13, 2017 No. 262n and other regulations governing labor relations.

    A technological installation, according to the dictionary definition, is a group workplace with various units, which is serviced by a team of workers. Each of them is responsible for a particular equipment (group of equipment), maintains it and ensures the correct mode of operation. Process plants most often refer to oil and gas processing equipment. The raw material can also be another substance (for example, air, coal, shale, etc.) that is processed into the final product.

    The essence of the work of a process plant operator

    A technological installation for oil or gas processing includes a lot of various equipment:

      Refrigeration and condensing units;

      Distillation columns;

      Heaters;

      Compressors and pumps.

    As is already clear from the name of the profession, a process plant operator is responsible for certain technological processes in production. It ensures uninterrupted operation of all units and monitors the performance of the entire system.

    In practice, however, they do not always trust him with their area of work. The least qualified specialists perform only auxiliary functions under the supervision of senior specialists and the chief technologist.

    At the same time, the responsibilities of a process plant operator only become greater as their qualifications increase. The most qualified specialist must be able to work on oil and gas processing installations of the highest category of complexity. At the same time, he has to do a lot of manual dirty work and engage in rather routine duties.

    As a rule, by this time the employee has already risen to the position of team leader and manages subordinates, as well as trains new employees.

    In general terms, the responsibilities of the operator of technological installations are as follows:

      Monitoring the readings of instrumentation;

      Regulation of the technological mode from the control panel;

      Ensuring the synchronization of cycles throughout production;
