Form of holding introductory and final conferences: The head of the practice conducts an introductory conference, where he introduces students to the purpose and objectives, the basis for the practice, recommended literature, the procedure for preparing and submitting a report. Prior to the start of the practice, the head of the practice and the TB engineer of the university introduces the rights and obligations of the trainees, safety precautions. For successful, high-quality practice, students are provided with educational and methodological material, direction, program and practice diary. Kick-off conferences are held on the first day of practice with the participation of the head of the department of geography and ecology, leaders of the UMS practice and the department, students undergoing practice.

Final internship conferences are held the following week after the completion of the internship. Since the training field practices end in August, the final conferences on them are held at the beginning of the next academic year. An internship program is drawn up and approved, which is issued in the form of a booklet. Booklets of the program and invitations are distributed to students, practice leaders, methodologists, as well as undergraduate students who will have to undergo this type of practice in the next academic year. Final conferences are held in the form scientific conferences, where each group presents the studied material in the form of a scientific report, message or presentation. The presented material is discussed by the participants of the conference. An exhibition of reports, field diaries, photographs, newspapers is being held.

Kick-off conferences on pedagogical practices are held in traditional form. Students get acquainted with the distribution by schools and methodologists in subjects and pedagogy. The senior methodologist introduces the purpose, tasks and content of practices, with the preparation of reporting documentation. Students are given creative assignments on teaching methods, which they must complete in their schools. At the final conference, group reports of students on the schools in which they had practice are heard. Students make a report on the implementation of creative tasks. Exhibitions are organized teaching materials created by students during practice.

As in the case of a term paper, a presentation is sometimes required to accompany the practice report. It all depends on the preferences of the teacher.

Presentation Software

The undisputed leader among presentation programs is Microsoft PowerPoint, which is part of the MS Office package (along with Word, Excel and other programs). This application has many advantages:

  • Large collection of templates. Users all over the world post sample presentations and they are free to download and use.
  • Wide functionality. You can set the appearance and disappearance of slides or individual elements with various special effects (by timer or click), add sound and video.
  • Prevalence. If you need to urgently fix something in a presentation outside of your home, chances are you'll find PowerPoint on a computer at an educational institution.
  • Ability to create demos. The demo file (unlike a presentation - a ppt or pptx file) cannot be edited, but it runs even without PowerPoint installed.
  • Import objects from other office programs (in particular, beautiful charts from Excel).
  • Access to cloud storage for team work.

Figure 1. Practice PowerPoint Presentation

The only drawback for students is that the program is paid. But if you purchase an office package, it is already included in it, you won’t have to pay anything extra.

The free OpenOffice suite includes Impress. In terms of its capabilities, it is similar to PowerPoint.

There are also separate (non-packaged) applications - paid and free, for example, Kingsoft Presentation, PromoSHOW and others.

Practice Presentation Structure

The presentation is a strictly structured document. Each page (slide) should contain certain information.

The first page is the title page. It should include the following components: The name of the university. Department name. Name of the author. The name of the practice report and its type (educational, industrial, undergraduate). Name of the supervisor. City and year.

This slide is like a title page in a printed report. It performs the same function (present the work to the audience) and contains the same information.

Remark 1

You need to check the data on the printed title page and title slide. Most often, errors occur in the subject or name of the enterprise, when the student writes them from memory.

The second sheet is usually devoted to the goals and objectives of the practice, the assignment for the practice.

The third and subsequent sheets contain a description of the base of practice (the enterprise where the trainee worked) and the results of the work. Specific information depends on the specialty and place of internship.

Example 1

For example, students of economics should study in detail the firm in which they were taken to practice. To do this, they need financial statements. Based on it, coefficients are calculated, conclusions are drawn about financial condition. Teacher students briefly describe the school or Kindergarten, focusing on the children's team and the lessons held in it. In production and undergraduate practice, the organization is given more attention than in training (introductory).

In general, you need to analyze the literature on the subject of your practice, suggest ways to improve the organization's activities.

At the end, the student must state the conclusions on the practice, which he stated in the conclusion of the practice report.

To make a really good presentation, first of all, after writing a practice report, read it carefully in its entirety. This will help you highlight the main points that need to be visualized. The focus should be on the introduction and conclusion of the report. It is in them that the extract of this document is contained, the most important data that should be relied upon in the report.

In addition, select suitable illustrative material. It should be enough to diversify speech, and, at the same time, not too much. The key here is relevance and relevance. Don't post pictures just for the sake of it.

Example 2

It is appropriate to replace the rows of numbers with a diagram, this form of presentation of the material is more convenient for perception. Diagrams related to the work performed at the enterprise or characterizing its activities in general (for example, the structure of management bodies) can be useful. Ornaments, flowers and other decorations in this presentation will be superfluous.

Well, finally, it is worth recalling that you should not abuse the technical capabilities of PowerPoint. Various animation effects are good, but you don't need to overdo it. Firstly, when everything flies and sparkles, it irritates and makes it difficult to perceive information. Secondly, not all projectors display animation correctly.

When preparing a presentation, do not forget that it is most often accompanied by a defensive speech. Therefore, you do not need to print huge pieces of text - it is better to tell them. On the slides, put only what needs to be conveyed visually, which is poorly perceived by ear.

Presentation is not Handout. People look at her from afar, not everyone has perfect eyesight. Therefore, the font should be large and easy to read. It is optimal to choose something simple - Arial, Times New Roman. Fonts with monograms are not needed.

Such a characteristic as the fullness of the "sheet" is closely related to the font size. No need to overload it. If there is a lot of information, break it into several pictures. It is optimal to place no more than 1-2 pictures or 1-2 short sentences of text. Don't try to fit a 20 page report into 10 slides.

Colors should be contrasting. This is especially valuable for audiences in which the windows are not closed with thick curtains. In bright light, the projections look rather pale. Light blue font on a white background will turn into completely unreadable. At the same time, dark letters on a light background are preferable, and not vice versa. Undesirable and "vyrviglaznye" combinations like red on light green.

Figure 2. Projection in a darkened room

The template should correspond to the theme and at the same time be quite strict. Ideally, do without “curls”, limiting yourself to strict geometry.

Make charts in the same style. The purpose of the presentation is to convey information, not to demonstrate the ability to change styles and colors.

The students of our group had an internship (from September 1 to September 28) in two schools with in-depth study of the Spanish language: school No. 205 and No. 43. We conducted lessons both in elementary and high schools.

Objectives of the practice: consolidation of the acquired knowledge in the already completed disciplines related to teaching; gaining experience working with children under the guidance of a teacher at school;

In the process of practice, the following tasks were solved: consolidation and deepening of methodological knowledge, their application; formation and development of professional skills and abilities; development of professional personal properties and qualities (the ability to show restraint; tact; humane attitude; culture of communication, etc.); education of sustainable interest, love for the profession; development of a creative and research approach to professional activities;

Academic work For all the time of practice, we actively helped teachers in their difficult work. During the practice, we conducted 20 substitution lessons. In our lessons, we actively applied the theoretical knowledge gained in practice, tried to diversify the lessons, make them interesting and effective. To do this, we resorted to the following steps ...

To increase the motivation to learn Spanish, we conducted such extracurricular activities, as: Quiz - Lecture on the holidays of Spain - a lesson-conversation about the music of Latin America -

After completing an internship at school, we gained experience in teaching in educational institution. This was facilitated by the knowledge gained at the University. For the passage of pedagogical practice were organized the necessary conditions. During the practice, we learned how to make a work plan for the upcoming lesson, rationally allocate time, use techniques for changing activities during the lesson in order to keep students' attention, reduce their fatigue, and communicate with the audience.
