The manual defines the sequence of work, the algorithm for entering information, the stages of work in the project until the end of the full-fledged input of information. You can get acquainted with the manual on the website of the Dnevnik.ru project.
The first step is the activation of an educational institution (EI). Activation codes are sent to educational institutions by the coordinator of the Dnevnik.ru Internet project after sending the Application for connection on the Dnevnik.ru website. To activate, you must enter the activation code of the school on the main page of the diary or on the school connection page. After entering the code, you must specify the data of the first administrator of the school (the head of the educational institution or the specialist responsible for the implementation, appointed by order of the school, hereinafter the administrator). The administrator, as well as any user of the diary, after registration opens the master of acquaintance with the Diary. He talks about the main functions of the diary for a school teacher. To start managing the school, you need to go to the administration section (see "Entering the administration"). The first time you sign in, the School Setup Wizard opens, allowing you to pre-configure your school. After activation, you need to set up your school on the project website.
Recommended school setup order:

Initial settings, partly helps to make the school setup wizard, which is loaded when you first enter the school. The setup process is described in detail in the Administrator's Guide. The sequence of information entry remains unchanged regardless of the completeness of the project implementation in a general education institution. For example, if at the initial stage of project implementation it was decided to fully (using all school functions) connect several selected classes, all these operations, starting with the creation of a bell schedule, must be carried out only within these classes. After entering necessary information you can start using the diary. Users are teaching staff, students and parents. Everyone has their own level of access and opportunities. Everyone has a personal entrance to the project site. Personal invitations (logins and passwords) are generated by the project administrator, a specialist responsible for the project at the school. Participants in the educational process: teachers, students, parents can receive personal invitation codes immediately after the administrator enters their personal data (creating personas). This will enable them to take advantage of networking and educational resources.

Department team information technologies of the city of Moscow (DIT), which is implementing IT in the capital's education, spoke about the performance of the updated electronic diary and journal, and also named the main reasons why "the diary does not work."

The whole of September 2017 in the media and social networks the topic of using the “electronic diary of a student” service by Moscow teachers and parents is being actively discussed. Opinions about the need for this service in schools, the convenience of working with it, the relevance and effectiveness in comparison with the paper counterpart, are divided. In defiance of Muscovites who actively support the informatization of the educational process, people who have encountered certain difficulties in trying to master the "new technologies" act.

To dot the “and”, experts of the Department of Information Technologies of the city of Moscow analyzed the appeals of citizens on the topic of the operability of the electronic diary and journal, identified the main difficulties faced by users, named their reasons, and also spoke about methods for correcting the situation. Thus, the leaders among the problematic topics were complaints about the impossibility of entering the diary, as well as the fact that "the diary does not work all the time."

“Situations are different .. Accordingly, in one account the parent sees his child, the other does not. Similar problems arise if the school makes a mistake when entering the parent's data into the system. It also happens that you can’t enter the electronic diary while at work, due to the fact that certain corporations, for some reason, block access to the website, ”commented the adviser to the head of the Moscow DIT on strategic projects and innovation Andrey Belozerov.

By the current academic year, DIT has introduced an important and noticeable update into the "electronic student diary" service, namely, the rejection of an additional login and password when entering the diary. Since this update affected the vast majority of users, it also caused a wave of misunderstanding on the part of parents. In connection with this, another frequently asked question into service technical support diary became: “Why haven’t they given me a password at school yet, how to enter the diary?”.

“Earlier, schools gave out a username and password, and this is how it looked: the teacher printed them on paper, then cut them with scissors, handed out the sheets to parents who lost them and then could not enter the diary and complained that it did not work. The second and even worse situation: when the teacher on the page, for example, of the Vkontakte group published logins and passwords of the entire class on the wall, and then anyone could use them. We need to leave this system, and therefore we have abandoned all logins and passwords that were issued in schools,” Andrey Belozerov shared.

That is why, in order to ensure required level information security the child's personal data, as well as significantly simplify the process of entering the diary, the user authorization system has been changed. After authorization on the portal, parents can immediately enter the diary without the need to enter additional passwords.

Thus, the main reasons faced by users of the diary are not technical, but rather human in nature: outdated links by which parents try to get into the diary, typos in e-mail, surnames and other information that do not allow the user to be correctly identified, insufficient the level of computer literacy, as well as the lack of the habit of working not with a paper journal and diary, but with an electronic one. But the main reason for the current situation with negative comments around the diary, Belozerov called the shortcomings of the DIT in terms of informing teachers and parents about how to work with the diary. This led, among other things, to the appearance of such statements that, supposedly, if a parent did not read the entries in the diary in time, then information about this is automatically sent to the guardianship authorities. “Such functionality is not provided in the diary!” Belozerov said categorically.

At the same time, DIT confirms that a comprehensive system update, seasonal increased load on the service, and updating the system functionality do cause a certain technical instability of the service. However similar cases are not massive, but local in nature and are promptly corrected thanks to online monitoring, which monitors the performance of all systems 24x7.

According to Andrei Belozerov, “some inconsistencies in the transition to an updated diary and journal do exist. At the same time, they are not massive, the system works stably. This is evidenced by the fact that in the first three weeks of September 2017, more than 11 million marks were put up in it, more than 1.5 million homework assignments were assigned. We do not stop working around the clock to improve the electronic diary and journal and eliminate user errors. We try to present the picture quite fully - it is information and communication with all participants in the process that are now one of the top priorities of the DIT.”

The main tasks for the remaining days of September and October 2017 for DIT are to ensure the technical stability of the service, as well as an information and educational campaign among teachers and parents.

Parents and teachers in the capital, who are users of the “electronic student diary”, most often complain about the inability to enter the service, the press service of the Moscow Department of Information Technology (DIT) reported. “Throughout September 2017, the topic of using the “electronic diary of a student” service by Moscow teachers and parents was actively discussed in the media and social networks. The specialists of the department analyzed the appeals of citizens on the topic of the operability of the “electronic diary” and the journal, identified the main difficulties faced by users, named their reasons, and also spoke about methods for correcting the situation. Thus, the leaders among the problematic topics were complaints about the inability to enter the diary, as well as the fact that “the diary is constantly not working,” the message says.

According to Andrey Belozerov, adviser to the head of Moscow's DIT on strategic projects and innovations, among the complainers were people who opened two personal accounts on the portal of the capital's mayor's office, indicating different phone numbers and e-mail. “Accordingly, in one account the parent sees his child, in the other - no. Similar problems arise if the school makes a mistake when entering the parent's data into the system. It also happens that you can’t enter the “electronic diary” while at work, due to the fact that certain corporations for some reason block access to the site,” he explained.

As the press service clarified, by the current academic year, DIT has introduced an update into the “electronic student diary” service - the rejection of an additional login and password when entering the diary. Now, to work with the “electronic diary”, it is enough to have an account on the portal of the mayor and the government of Moscow. After authorization on the portal, parents can immediately enter the diary without the need to enter additional passwords. But since this update affected the vast majority of users, it also caused a wave of misunderstanding on the part of parents and another frequent question to the diary’s technical support service was: “Why haven’t I been given a password at school yet, how to enter the diary?”. This system must be abandoned, and therefore we have abandoned all logins and passwords that were issued in schools,” commented A. Belozerov.

The press service noted that the main reasons faced by users are not technical, but rather human in nature. “Outdated links that parents use to get into the diary, typos in e-mail, surnames and other information that do not allow the user to be correctly identified, insufficient computer literacy, as well as the lack of the habit of working not with a paper journal and diary, but with an electronic one. But the main reason for the current situation with negative comments around the diary is the shortcomings of the DIT in terms of informing teachers and parents about how to work with the diary. This led, among other things, to the appearance of such statements that, supposedly, if a parent did not read the entries in the diary in time, then information about this is automatically sent to the guardianship authorities. But such functionality is not provided for in the diary,” said A. Belozerov.

At the same time, DIT confirms that a comprehensive system update, seasonal increased load on the service, and updating the system functionality do cause a certain technical instability of the service. However, such cases are local in nature and are quickly corrected thanks to online monitoring, which monitors the performance of all systems around the clock. “Some inconsistencies in the transition to the updated diary and journal do exist. We try to present the picture quite fully - it is information and communication with all participants in the process that are now one of the top priorities of the DIT,” added A. Belozerov. The press service concluded that the main tasks for the remaining days of September and October 2017 for DIT is to ensure the technical stability of the service, as well as an information and educational campaign among teachers and parents.

Grades in the diary

How can I find out for what and when an assessment was made?

When you hover the mouse cursor over a cell with an estimate in the diary, a tooltip is displayed that contains the name of the control form and the time it was set.

What are the priorities for grades for different assignments when calculating the grade for midterm assessment?

The points earned for the test or control work are of great importance.
Classwork grades and whiteboard responses are considered less significant. The results of homework do not matter at all, since when doing them, the child has the opportunity to use additional materials and outside help.

What is a dot in a diary?

A dot indicates a debt to complete the work or the need to retake. It can also serve as a reminder of the work that is planned in the future. When setting the “point” mark, the teacher independently sets the validity period, after which the point either turns into an assessment or disappears. At the end of the attestation period, the point automatically turns into an assessment, if it was put down, or disappears.

What is a dot next to an estimate?

Several grades can be set in the diary and next to them there can be a mark - “point”. When you hover your mouse over this mark, the name of the type of work for which it was set will be displayed - for example, an oral answer. This means that the teacher has noted the debt for the answer on the topic and indicates the intention to ask the student again or do the work again.

How is the grade for the interim assessment determined?

Add up all the grades for homework and calculate the total score. In the same way, calculate the average grade for classwork. If the results of class and homework are the same, we can assume that this is an objective assessment of the student's knowledge. If the score for classwork is higher or lower than for homework, it should be considered as a priority. Calculate and evaluate the overall result of examinations. If it matches the homework and/or classwork mark, it should be considered a quarter total. If scores for test papers higher or lower, priority is given to test scores.
